“Great city break in a lovely boutique hotel”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Just back from a lovely weekend in the George Boutique Hotel. I opted for a bed rate only so I can't comment on breakfast but the room, the staff, the bar and Chocolate restaurant was all top class. The bar in the hotel had great entertainment on Friday night. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location for a stay in Limerick

We had a little trouble finding the hotel. Thank goodness our son's eagle eyes. Take the escalator or elevator up from the Shannon St. entrance and you are in the hotel.Staff was very efficient and pleasant. Our family room was not overly large, but comfortable enough for the 4 of us having one double and two twins. I didn't love the "public restroom " style toiletries. They were wall mounted pump dispensers. I noted a smell on entry which was an odd mixture of grapefruit and ??? My husband thought it smelled like Lysol or some other antiseptic spray. Having said that we were all comfortable. Staff is very responsive and honest. We were two hours away when we realized we had left our passports and by the time we contacted them , they had already attempted to call and email us. For us it is always a question of whether we would stay again amd in this case we would.
There are also some terrific restaurants within a short walk. We dined at Cornstore about a block away and had one of the best meals of our trip. Absolutely delicious. Also liked Cafe Noir for lunch.

Not a bad choice by any means but just a little uninspiring. The rooms are pretty spacious but standard fair. It's very clean and well appointed and the staff are friendly and very amenable, but it's just a bit average. Good fast and free Internet access is a bonus.

In the city centre, the reception is on the first floor, accessed by a lift and en escalator, that cunningly reverses in the morning! The check in was efficient, and the staff were efficient and friendly. Rooms are not overly large, but well equipped, modern and comfortable. There is a reasonable bar and restaurant. The food was ok but nothing special, although they have a decent selection of wines.
There is free wi-fi, but you need different passwords for the room and bar/restaurant areas. More importantly, the hotel have an arrangement with a local car park. They stamp the ticket before you pick the car up, but it only covers the overnight from 6pm to 8am. Anything outside these times is charged at a current rate of 1.8 Euro per hour.
With its very central location, and modern decor, this a good moderately priced choice in the city centre.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on Trip Advisor. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us on your recent visit to Limerick.

As regards your comments concerning our parking arrangements - unfortunately we don't have our car park as we are located right in the city centre. However we have secured reduced prices with 2 multi story car parks located just around the corner from the hotel: Howleys Quay Car Park and Harvey’s Quay Car Park.

I hope that due to your positive experience we will be able to welcome you back to The George Boutique Hotel in the near future.

We stayed one night in Limerick in the George Boutique Hotel. Our room was so spacious! Plus it had a great view over the city, we could even see the castle from our room. Staff were friendly and efficient, hotel was clean and modern. Great central location.

Discounted parking is offered at the nearby Howley's Quay Car Park. Just let reception know and they will validate your ticket for you.

Travel adaptors are available for purchase or for free use.

Stayed at this hotel in early May 2014 as part of a bus tour of Ireland. You must go up an elevator or escalator to get to main floor with the reception desk. We did eat in this hotel restaurant, after taking a short walk from the hotel, and it was good. The room was very clean and comfortable. Lots of things to do well within walking distance.
