“Great hotel and perfect location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2013

I booked this hotel through a pigsback.com online offer. Great price and all looked good when i checked the reviews. I must say the reviews dont do it enough justice. This is a great hotel, perfect central location (5 minute walk to the main shopping area) and we really enjoyed the two nights.

We arrived Good Friday and got parking in the underground carpark. Spaces are limited but the overflow is a two minute walk across the road if you are unlucky not to get one. Might also help if people can park properly as one car had taken two spaces! You walk straight into reception which is bright, modern and real funky. We were greeted by two friendly faces and proceeded to be checked in. Our room wasn't ready and one of the gentleman went and found another room for us rather than leaving us wait around. The room was fantastic. Bright, airy, big bed, big bathroom etc.

We had dinner in the restaurant on Friday night. Had a small issue with the server hence only the four stars but the food was quality. I had Goats cheese bruschetta, the the cod goujons and ice cream for dessert. My wife had chicken wings, chicken and ice cream to. 3 course for €25.00 and happily would have paid more for it.

I really liked the design, starting from the lobby with warm lightning to a big room with a sitting area, 2 plasma tv's and balcony. One thing - the door to the bathroom didn't close properly. Also the vegetarian omelette for breakfast was not very tasty, but overall experience is very good and I highly recommend to everybody.

Fantastic hotel, attention to detail was exemplary, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a large group of ladies staying (17 in total), and the hotel were very capable in catering for our needs. The rooms were clean, large, modern and very comfortable. The restaraunt was just amazing. The quality of the food and the variety on offer was great and this all came at a great price. Would certainly recommend the hotel for couples/friends and groups alike. will definitly be staying again

We went here for a Hen weekend, we had spa treatments and a meal with wine included in our package, every thing was great. The rooms were excellent and the food. It was a short walk from the town. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: From what I saw they were all great in our party.

This hotel is modern, comfortable, clean, and upscale. There is nothing we could possibly complain about... the room was enormous, offered great views of the river and the town, anbd was very pleasant. The hotel is also within walking distance of almost all the major attractions in the city, so it makes for a great "home base" if visiting Limerick to see the sites/sights. All in all, a great hotel... and the fact that we got it for a total cost of only $70 CAD for the night was even better.

The hotel was included in our Stena Line short break but after reading reviews here I contacted the hotel and upgraded to a suite with no problem. We arrived at 9 pm and the receptionist booked us in very quickly so that we were able to get to the restaurant before it closed. He was very helpful and it was all done in a couple of minutes. Parking was easy although there is only space for about 40 cars. The suite was really just a large room subdivided by a ceiling high unit that housed the TVs, one facing the bed and the other side facing the sofa. Bed comfortable, plenty of cupboard space and also a table and two chairs which would be good for breakfast and room service.
Bathroom had massive bath that took ages to fill, a separate shower cubicle (not power though) and twin basins. Robes provided.
There was also a balcony overlooking the river.
Breakfast very good for cooked items but limited choice for continental options. All staff very friendly and helpful. There is free wifi throughout the hotel.
We stayed for three nights and will definitely revisit.

Room Tip: Rooms that overlook the river are quiet.

On arrival receptionists very friendly and helpful. Got nice room at top of hotel very quite as requested. No bath but power shower good. Tv had film options which was nice but limited choice. Went out for dinner. Back to hotel. Good sleep. Spa treatments and hair appt all under one roof great idea. But first breakfast at an expectation inducing €12 per person. Boy did it not live up to the cost. It was explained to the restaurant manager that the cooked breakfast was terrible and she could not have been more apologetic and she did all she could to make amends we were nit charged and she offered lunch which we could not avail of as we had our appts booked for directly after breakfast.the spa and hairdressers were good and very friendly. On check out we were asked for feedback and explained about breakfast we were upgraded to premium rooms on our next visit which we will definitely do and hopefully breakfast will be not as pricey and twice as tasty !!
