“Lovely spacious rooms,superb hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2014

I discovered the Absolute hotel two years ago and always come back to it. The rooms are exceptionally spacious. I usually stay with my two sisters so you can imagine the bags, cosmetics etc but we had lots of room. The staff are so helpful and pleasant . The food is top class and the evening three course meal was part of a special deal. Hard to beat this hotel . At night we took a taxi back to the hotel as the area is quiet and poorly lit. Just a precaution and because it's so near the centre the cost was minimal. There's a food and craft market on Saturdays within 5 minutes walk of the hotel with artisan foods and local crafts. A really relaxing break . Looking forward to returning

Stayed at absolute hotel for one night, it was a 3 star hotel not a 4 star. We found the check in process adequate, receptionist not very friendly. I had a hand massage at spa, therapist was lovely but the treatment was average. For less than half hour treatment I found it expensive. We had dinner at hotel on the night, food was not good. We were only seated 2 mins at table and waitress was over to take order, I had not even had chance to look at menu so asked her to give me a few mins, another waitress then came for our order so we felt rushed and just ordered without really looking at options. Food was disappointing, and choice was poor.

First off ,Sorry. As always I hate not meeting peoples expectations and your experience as a 3 star hotel not 4 star is disappointing. I will pass the spa comments on but I would welcome any specific feedback on the dining experience. We are a casual dining eaterie so the pace is quick but you should not feel rushed to order, which has then impacted the rest of your experience. I’d truly love any specific feedback that will let me be able to back to my team.

regards

A little hard to find in the dark. We dove over the river several times. We could see the hotel, just a little trouble getting to it. Definitely worth the trouble. Wonderful staff, free parking & the most modern rooms we stayed in in Ireland. We arrived after a long day of driving to our nicely appointed room & modern bathroom. Best shower of the trip. The restaurant was busy, all waiters & bartenders were attentive. The food was delicious. We were sorry we were not staying longer.

Stayed at the Absolute a few weeks ago. It was supposed to be a romantic getaway for me and my husband, but we ended up taking our 1 year old and mother-in-law with us. The hotel was fully booked, but when I called the day before, they somehow managed to get us a room large enough to fit us all in, it was so comfortable and stylish. It was a superior room which scared me to think we would all be in the same room, but there was a partition wall between us and a TV on each side, it was perfect. A travel cot fit in perfectly too, still with plenty of space to move around freely.

The hotel itself is very stylish, open and airy. It is in a perfect location, close to sights and within walking distance of the city centre. There is underground parking available there too, free of charge.

We decided to eat at the hotel restaurant, and could not fault the food. It was really very good, all courses were delicious, even the baby meal was very healthy and tasty.

Overall, I would stay here again in a heart beat, a really great hotel, with accommodating and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with river view. Upgrade to a superior room for a very small price, well worth it!

Our weekend at the Absolute Hotel was excellent value for money. There is a lovely modern vibe to the hotel and the rooms and has a boutique style. The staff could not do enough for you and catered to your every need. Our room was so spacious and luxurious and housekeeping standards were impeccable. We will be revisiting soon hopefully and would 100% recommend to anyone who truly appreciates an affordable friendly clean modern stylish hotel. You are a short walk from the centre of town and adjacent to the Shannon so the location is excellent.

Great hotel for a weekend away. It's located slightly out of town but its really only a 5 minute walk in! Our room was fab. Really big with a lovely bathroom. The staff were very helpful and both the bar and the reception area were very comfy!
