“Nice modern hotel but need to sort the noise issues out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

Stayed here for two nights whilst on business in Limerick. The hotel itself is modern and well-kept with rooms to match with nice features and fittings particularly in the bathroom and around the bed. The room was also pretty spotless and were of a good size unlike many other hotel rooms I've stayed in. What spoilt it for me was two bad nights' sleep in a row there. Nothing to do with the bed as it was very comfortable but rather the noise from the main road outside as the double glazing seemed pretty insufficient in keeping the noise out. Also the person in the room next door obviously was having a rough night and the walls seemed paper-thin. The food and service was very good in the restaurant where I had both breakfast and dinner. A good selection for both and the desserts in particular are stunning. However the only main problem was the pork belly I had which was very fatty and whilst pork belly is fatty, I didn't expect there to a whole slab of fat and no meat. The location itself is pretty good for the centre and all the major roads and the reception staff are very hospitable and friendly, arranging an early morning taxi to the train station for me on my last day. I would stay again if back down there as the positives outweigh the negative.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face directly onto the main road which runs alongside the hotel as the...

Thanks for the feedback.
On one hand I’m delighted to see that overall you had a great stay but I’m disappointed to see the issues with road noise. We have modern double-glazing and I believe that the ventilation strip, which is really small and not very visible, was left open and this does leave the noise in. I’ve instructed the accommodation team to ensure that all the vents are sealed and I hope that this will address the road noise. I can’t address the issue from the neighbours in the other room but if you ever come across an issue then please do call reception and we will action. I hope you’ll make it back to us at some stage.
Regards

Stayed here for a night away in a superior room, lovely spacious room, amazing rain-style shower, great breakfast, friendly staff and very convenient to everything in the city centre. Will definitely come back.

Stayed there in Jun 2013 with a couple of friends. Booked a triple room as there were 3 of us just for one night. The room was very spacious - ample room for the 2 twin beds and sofa bed (which was surprisingly comfortable!). Breakfast was good - buffet and a select few a la carte items. There is a nice terrace on the river side. The location is great - just slightly out of the hustle and bustle of the center which is about 7-8mins walk away. As a previous reviewer suggested, check out The Lock bar and restaurant - only a few minutes walk away. Outdoor riverside or indoor seating - nice food menu with traditional Irish pub atmosphere.

Stayed one night in Limerick, and spent it at the Absolute Hotel. They have a convenient parking deck. Their location is within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. We loved the style of the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'd recommend staying here.

My wife and I toured Southern Ireland in June and loved this hotel! One of bonuses is on site included parking...always a plus this close to city center. The majority of sites are in easy walking distance. The hotel is clean and has great amenities (including individual room air conditioning) which was great considering it was hot in all the other hotels we stayed in during Ireland's 2014 heat wave. I recommend this hotel for a great stay in Limerick!

Stayed for 2 weekday nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Spacious lobby; nice bar with outdoor seating area overlooking the river; good and reasonably priced lunch and dinner menu's and very comfortable room. A shortish circular walk along the river brings you to the city centre and local tourist sites and an even shorter walk takes you to the Lock pub/restaurant for a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommended.
