Stayed in September 2011 for one night. Efficient and friendly staff. Modern spacious room and ensuite. Room overlooking the street but windows soundproofed. Nice coctail bar downstairs. Dinner in the Hamptons, was lovely. Have dined there before and it's always good. Very good value. Discount parking across the street. Would stay again.

The Savoy is a luxury hotel in which we were treated with personal service. Rooms are first class, both food and service are excellent in the Hampton restaurant, breakfast was high quality and varied and it all came for a very reasonable price. i thoroughly recommend the Savoy; it's special.

I've now stayed in this hotel twice and doubly regret it. It is overpriced and the service provided by the staff is substandard. On the two occasions I've been here, the fire alarms have gone off in the middle of the night. Each time I left my room and went down to stairs with only my pyjamas on, to find that none of the staff seemed to be taking any notice. Some other guests were like me, standing around in the lobby all woken up, while the local patrons in the bar looked and laughed at us. Maybe it is a local thing they have going on down there, set off the alarm for a laugh and look at a bunch of tired people in their pyjamas. But setting off the fire alarms in the building at 2am is not fun for a stranger to this city. I would expect the staff to be professional in such a situation and not just stand around uncertain of what to do. If the fire alarm goes off I expect there should be some drill for them to follow ... least I hope there is.

Centrally placed with a parking lot just across the street. Not the cheepest, but a really good hotel in a not so exiting town.

I've traveled to Limerick on business several times and in my opinion the Savoy is not just the best choice, it is the ONLY choice. This former Marriott property is well managed from door to room. The lobby staff is more friendly and helpful than nearly any place I've visited; I'm always greeted by name on every return, all requests are promptly and courteously dealt with, and check-in/check-out is as easy as can be. The rooms are nice and spacious, with excellent baths, well-arranged work areas, comfortable beds, good Internet. The breakfast is marvelous, whether you're looking for lite continental fare or the full-on Irish breakfast. Centrally located to many good dining and pub options, or just eat at the Hamptons and drink at the Savoy bar if you prefer it nice and quiet.

Room Tip: I noticed rooms at the ends of the hallway sometime take longer to get hot water. Avoid e.g. rm 601...

Stayed here on business.

This must be a self appointed 5* rating. Nowhere near the level of attention to detail or luxury you should expect from a true 5*.

This is a middle of the road 4* hotel at best.

Food was disappointing and bore not relation to what was on the room service menu. Poor substitute made for a desert which was not available. Food quality, again middle of the road.

Internet access (for the business travellers) free but extremely flakey particularly in the rooms. I am sending this from my phone as I cannot get a stable connection in the room. Admittedly it was better in the bar.

Is it value for money? Well not really. There are several other 4* hotels in Limerick and although the Savoy is not charging 5* prices in real terms, it is charging a premium compared with the other 4*'s and frankly it does not deserve too.

Nothing to write home about. I will try one of the other 4*'s next visit.

I think that this hotel is overrated too much in Tripadvisor. It was an ordinary country hotel.
The clerks of front desk chatted in back room, and neglected the customer for a while. She explained only about payment, never explained any other items such as customer's preference, breakfast time, check out time, etc.
The window of the room faced the next building's windows, so it is hesitated to open the window. No view! The lights of the room were small and dark.
The varieties of breakfast are restricted. No vegetables!
The internet, Wi-Fi was sometimes disconnected for a long time. I asked the front desk, and she answered to send someone to repair, but no one came.
When I asked the front desk about the local souvenirs, she intercepted my questions on the way, and she introduced the next supermarket. But I could not find anything what I want in that shop.
The clerks of this hotel seem to think that the customer is a nuisance or just money.
