The Westcourt might be easy to miss as you come down West Street, but I'm glad we found it. Its rooms are comfortable, the restaurant had good food, reasonably priced. The staircases and corridors reveal that the building has a history--the atrium-like corridor that leads to the party room is fresh and airy-feeling. The desk staff were most kind. Although it's an uphill walk to the Westcourt, the hotel is in an excellent location, close to many nice local eateries and an indoor shopping mall, and to the Bus Eireann station for day-trippers to Newgrange. (Not close to the rail station--but taxis are plentiful.)

We booked a girlie night out for my daughters 18th birthday . We were very impressed with the decor in the reception and had high hopes for the rooms. But we were sorely disappointed. The carpets were filthy and extra beds were squashed into the room for some unknown reason. Bathrooms were disgraceful and there was a leak from the room upstairs into our bathroom. When the night was booked we were given a SPECIAL deal !!! This consisted of bed and breakfast finger food and vip area reserved in the nightclub. The finger food had hair in it as did a sandwich that was ordered earlier and there was no vip area reserved for us and when we approached the nightclub manager she was very aggressive and unhelpful. We paid €75 per person for one night for rooms that were sub standered and hairy food. We did not bother with breakfast for fear of more hairy encounters. We were given a partial refund but my daughters night was ruined and she was very upset. We were asked to come back and assured we would be given the best room in the house but we would never go near the place again unless it was to kennell dogs. Caroline K

Room Tip: First floor rooms are above the bar and nightclub.

This is not about a stay in the hotel, more about my concerns re their customer service.
My daughter attended the nightclub in the hotel the weekend before last.
Her companion was feeling unwell, my daughter brought her outside for some fresh air.
After approx 15 mins they tried to go back in, but were prevented from doing so by the door staff.
No major problem there as it was quite late, the only issue was that my daughter's beloved leather jacket was in the cloakroom.
The following day she called the hotel, she was asked to call back that night when the club would be open. She did so and spoke to
a male member of staff who told her he had her Top Shop leather jacket and would leave it at hotel reception for her. Due to work commitments she was unable to call for it. Her father dropped in 4 days later to be told there was no leather jacket.
He was also informed that they hand everything left behind on to a lost & found service.
We duly contacted them but have had no reply, not even an acknowledgement of our enquiry.
So I want to know how a jacket that was placed at reception for collection by a staff member has mysteriously vanished ??
Answers on a postcard please !!!

The Westcourt Hotel was a great experiance for my family. We rented 2 rooms for 2 nights. Our room was one of the remodeled rooms so everything was really nice and new. The bathroom was great with a big tub and modern plumbing fixtures. There is no air conditioning in the rooms so we needed to leave the windows open for a comfortable temperature. This was no problem but the city street crews start cleaning the streets really early so we did not require a wake up call! The beds were very comfortable and I nice television with a good selection of channels on the TV. My brother in law got one of the rooms that had not been redone (ask for a remodelled one) yet and it was really tired looking, especially the bathroom. His tub leaked into the lobby below so he was moved to a remodelled room on the 2nd night which was lovely.

We were greeting with a very friendly reception young lady upon check in and she remainded very helpful throughout our stay. The general manager was in the lobby as we were checking out and she was a really super nice lady as well, making conversation and asking us if we had seen the sights. The bartender in the pub was really nice as well providing us with ice for our room each nice.

There is no elevator but we were offered help with our luggage witch we declined. We got good exersize and didn't mind the stairs at all. We were there on week nights so didn't experience the night club noise that others have talked about but did see the big new night club, it looks awesome!

The hotel could not be located in a better spot, right accross from a beautiful Church you can tour and only minutes from New Grange. We didn't buy the 10 euro breakfast since my family is ok with just McDonalds or something small and there is a McDonalds withine easy walking distance. There is a wonderfull little Itallian restaurant just past the church and up the hill on the right. My son said it was the best lasagna he had had in a long time. We had Pizza's that were great too.
