The ground floor of this hotel has a club that is open quite late and has DJ that plays loud tunes til the wee hours. Since sleeping isn't possible when the music is so loud you can understand the lyrics in you room, the hotel was a total nightmare. It's a shame because they have redecorated quite nicely. Unfortunately, the staff wasn't able to help with ear plugs (they were out, which means I wasn't the first to complain) or to get the music turned down. I would never stay here again.

We stayed there on Friday & Saturday night. We were allocated one of their refurbished new rooms. The room was lovely and had a real art deco feel with a nice flatscreen TV. The bathroom had no bath tub but the walk in shower was excellent.

I must say the ground floor has a really modern if not quirky feel. The staff were really helpful and gave us loads of tips about where to go and even got us a deal from local taxi to take us to Newgrange. The high point of our stay was a meal in their West 29 restaurant. Excellent food with real value for money prices with a real classy ambience. We had meal for 4 adults with 2 bottles of wine and a pre dinner drink for €124. We had to double check as we thought they must have left something out! We expected we had clocked up at least €150/€160.

On the down side the main bar is busy and very loud on Saturday night. A bit too loud for us but everyone seemed to be having a good time there. So we retreated back to West 29 and the waiter was happy to serve us a nightcap in less noisy surroundings.

There is no lift but we were offered help with our bags which thankfully we didn't need. Its just 2 flights of stairs but it could be a problem for older less mobile guests. Also there is some street noise, but I guess its town centre.

Really nice place. We will definitely be back if only to visit West 29!

Room Tip: Ask for one of their refurbished rooms and rooms on 3rd floor are best to avoid street noise at weekends.

The Westcourt might be easy to miss as you come down West Street, but I'm glad we found it. Its rooms are comfortable, the restaurant had good food, reasonably priced. The staircases and corridors reveal that the building has a history--the atrium-like corridor that leads to the party room is fresh and airy-feeling. The desk staff were most kind. Although it's an uphill walk to the Westcourt, the hotel is in an excellent location, close to many nice local eateries and an indoor shopping mall, and to the Bus Eireann station for day-trippers to Newgrange. (Not close to the rail station--but taxis are plentiful.)

We booked a girlie night out for my daughters 18th birthday . We were very impressed with the decor in the reception and had high hopes for the rooms. But we were sorely disappointed. The carpets were filthy and extra beds were squashed into the room for some unknown reason. Bathrooms were disgraceful and there was a leak from the room upstairs into our bathroom. When the night was booked we were given a SPECIAL deal !!! This consisted of bed and breakfast finger food and vip area reserved in the nightclub. The finger food had hair in it as did a sandwich that was ordered earlier and there was no vip area reserved for us and when we approached the nightclub manager she was very aggressive and unhelpful. We paid €75 per person for one night for rooms that were sub standered and hairy food. We did not bother with breakfast for fear of more hairy encounters. We were given a partial refund but my daughters night was ruined and she was very upset. We were asked to come back and assured we would be given the best room in the house but we would never go near the place again unless it was to kennell dogs. Caroline K

Room Tip: First floor rooms are above the bar and nightclub.
