A great place - lots of room and everything there that you could need.. washer, dryer, dishwasher, deck chairs etc.
We had a great week and found it very comfortable and convenient.
We stayed at An Spailpin in May. The property owner, Tom, met us and was very charming. We had asked for fresh milk to be on hand, which Tom had bought and placed in the fridge for us. The cottage is very spacious, with hall/coats, lounge/diner, and separate kitchen off. Also on the ground floor:- twin (en-suite), double (en-suite) and first floor twin. (limited headroom). A patio door leads to outside area which can also be accessed from the kitchen door. Every amenity one could need is on hand. The cottage is in a quiet and peaceful location, but only minutes from the bustling town of Westport, with plentiful cafe's, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, and shopping. There is plenty to do in Westport and surrounding ares, whilst there we visited Newport, Castlebar, and Dublin city (by train direct from Westport, booking in advance is advisable as the tickets are then cheaper). We also visited Westport House, took a drive around Achill Island and a cruise around Clew Bay. The people of Westport are charming, polite and friendly, the surrounding scenery is stunning. A car is advisable.
