From reading other reviews I expected great things from this hotel and was somewhat let down. The hotel is nice and has nice views etc but I felt it was just missing something. Our room was overlooking the back of the hotels and the bins which was an instant turn off. We ate in the bar on the first night and the staff and the food were excellent but breakie was dissappointing. Not much choice. There was live music both nights we were there which made sleeping until it was finished impossible from where our room was. The room was a nice size and was clean. Probably won't return.

We chose this hotel for the view of Clew Bay and we weren't disappointed. The hotel was exceptionally clean and very well maintained and the owners helpful and friendly. Other reviewers noted the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms and I went prepared & took my own travel kettle which was very helpful, but I agree that for the price charged, there should be these facilities provided. I would return the next time I visit Clew Bay but I would ask for a different room other than a loft room(there were several) as this didn't enhance the outlook over the Bay. The Web site mentions the excellent food at the Ardmore and we certainly agree.

Good quality rooms and very friendly staff. On the quieter side with little activity in public areas. Small golf course attached but not much more than a nice pitch and putt. Overall good value for money and a good base to explore Westport and surrounds.

We stayed in the hotel for the June Bank Holiday Weekend. It is beautifully located; in the countryside (with the view at Croke Patrick) yet very close to the town of Westport (I think we paid around €7 for the taxi fare).

The room was big with a massive king size bed. The owner couldn't do more for us.
It was a very relaxing and comfortable break.

Highly recommended.

Me and my Partner wanted to get away for a long relaxing weekend and this hotel allowed us to do just that. The scenery is fantastic and the location is perfect, not right in the crowds, but just a bit outside it. The food was great and we were both very pleased with the standard of service we received each day that we stayed and ate there. If we were looking a similar holiday again we would definitely return.
