“JCI Mayo and JCI Sheffield”
Reviewed 19 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

JCI Mayo was established in 2011 to increase development opportunities for local people and to make a difference in the community. As JCI is a truly global organisation (with over 200,000 members in over 180 countries), the Chamber had the opportunity to encourage visitors to Ireland.

In June of 2012 the international aspect of JCI Mayo was strengthened through its twinning with JCI Sheffield - the oldest JCI Chamber outside of the US. Through twinning the Chambers share best practice and work together on key initiatives. For 2013, one of the main aims is to increase tourism to County Mayo and to support the Gathering programme.

As such, JCI Mayo arranged an official visit for JCI Sheffield over St Patrick's Day weekend. Members had a chance to build a stronger network, to participate in the parade in Westport and to attend the brand new JCI Achieve and JCI impact course. JCI Sheffield's Immediate Past President is one of only two qualified trainers for this course in the whole of Europe so this is an amazing opportunity!

The event has proven to be exceptionally popular, with JCI Sheffield taking direct bookings from Leeds and Manchester as well as local members. The vast majority of interest was from people yet to visit Ireland and we are excited to show off off our beautiful country and make sure they become regular visitors!

The Lodge was amazing, as you drive up from the main road you get the wow factor and it doesn't stop all the way into and through this spectacular venue.

Everything has had real thought put into it. Our guest from Sheffield were very impressed and so much so we have provisionally booked for 2014 already!!!!

Would highly recommend this as a base for holiday, team building etc

“Stunning lodge & surroundings”
Reviewed 11 February 2013 for a stay in February 2013

Recently stayed in the Eaglewood lodge with a group of friends. Although I had seen photos on the website, they really don't do the place justice & I was absolutely thrilled with how fabulous the lodge was. Fabulous spacious rooms, lovely stove with lots of firewood, amazing ensuite in the master bedroom with a large stand-alone bathtub and it's stocked with every appliance you could need. It was so nice, we were all shocked that it was actually being rented out - I was really impressed with the attention to detail in the furnishings & decoration of the lodge.

We went out in Westport on the Saturday night and Michael was very helpful sending on details of caterers who were able to come in and set up dinner for us all before we went out. Although it is about 15-20 minutes outside of Westport, all the taxis were familiar with the house and we got a large taxi bus in and out of town for a reasonable price.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone - in fact, I was reluctant to leave and would go back in the morning if I could! If you are considering staying here, just do it & you will definitely not regret it!!

“Fine rustic lodge accomodation with outstanding mountain views”
Reviewed 14 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

The lodge is conviently located to the bustling town of Westport which is known for its outstanding music venues. Plenty of walking and fishing minutes from the lodge.
The kitchen is fully stocked for preparing meals if desired. The first floor balcony was ideal for the kids to hang out and watch tv and play games. Everything was clean and tidy with high quality furnishings and log beds to suit the decor. Michael the owner was on hand for any questions we had and suggestions for day trips etc.
Overall a very relaxing place to stay with a great cd selection of music. We will definitely be back .
