“Too short a stay in a fabulous house!”
Reviewed 2 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

I stayed here with 7 members of my family, and had a lovely relaxing time. As has been said in many reviews, it's hard for photos to show how fabulous this house is. So roomy, spacious and unique! Half of my family arrived earlier in the day so I arrived along with the remainder of our group to a roaring log fire (this had been previously set by the owners) and a massive family table set for dinner.

The facilities are great, 4 roomy bedrooms with lovely big comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms, an exceptionally well equipped kitchen/dining room, and lots of comfy sofas for relaxing on. I had the luxury of the gorgeous free standing bath in one of the downstairs bathrooms.

The attention to detail and the extra touches like fabulous paintings and photos, terrific lighting, loads of outdoor dining/seating space, books galore, sumptuous curtains and some beautiful innovative pieces of furniture really make this feel like a family home rather than a holiday home.

My granddaughter enjoyed a lot of time on the outdoor swing/slide set in the lovely quiet surroundings. We also watched a dvd with her in the mezzanine sitting room. Even the fact that the satellite was temporarily down and we couldn't use the tv didn't detract from our weekend.

We hope to return in the future for a longer time and I've already recommended it to friends

“A fantastic experience”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Just back from our very memorable stay at the Eaglewood Lodge. The lodge is simply stunning and there is so much space around it. Ideal for a large group including kids. The weather was fantastic so we took great use from the BBQ and there was a swing and slide to entertain the children.
The scenary was spectacular and going for a drive to explore the area was a pleasure. Some of the family climbed Croagh Patrick which is very near and others went on to explore Westport which had a festival on so there was a great buzz around.

“Fab House with amazing views”
Reviewed 14 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We were a group of 10 girls renting the house for three nights. We were all thrilled with the house and it's facilities, it really felt like a home away from home. Michael had the stove lighting when we arrived on a cold Friday evening so we settled in very quickly with the added bonus of playing a few tunes on the jukebox! We would all highly recommend the house and the the taxi service recommended was excellent for carting us in and out of the buzzing town of Westport where we had great craic. All in all a super house with amazing views and everything you would need for a perfect weekend away.

“Cosy and homely but spacious enough to cope with a large group with ease”
Reviewed 18 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We were on a hen weekend and the house suited our needs perfectly. Ate in on the Friday night, very well equipped kitchen and a table that could seat 12 comfortably. plenty of couches and there was even a second sitting room up in the mezzanine/hall landing with a giant tv that we didn't even get around to using. House would work well for two family with lots of kids, parents could sleep downstairs in en suite rooms and kids could be piled in upstairs with their own sitting room.

“A Perfect Location”
Reviewed 24 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We were a family group of seven adults and five children and we are attracted to Eaglewood Lodge initially because it satisfied our need to have a property of sufficient size to accommodate our group and at the same time act as a base for activities in the area and to entertain others who were in the area at the same time .
Although the number of people adults and children varied over the time are were there there was no sense that we felt overcrowded as the Lodge was very spacious and the children (whose ages varied between 7 and five) were able to use the upstairs lounge for their dvd's and computer games . The outside area was a major attraction and they played away in the grounds in complete safety. The lovely large bath in the downstairs master bedroom was well used by bathing children and the shower facilities and bedroom accommodation was more than adequate . As it was early spring the house was if anything too warm at times as the heat retention of the house was excellent. However the large wood burning stove downstairs was a welcoming addition at night and a focus for entertaining - as was the jukebox!
The actual location of Eaglewood Lodge couldn't have been much better (although Irish distances seem to be longer than anticipated!) as the property is situated close enough to Westport to be easily accessible and also well situated for sightseeing in Connemara with Clifton close at hand and Galway some distance further.
The design of the house was a major attraction ,unusual for the Irish countryside but fitted in totally with the area and the facilities were such that they would be difficult to equal anywhere. Certainly it would be ideal as a base for exploring Connemara or as a location for a family get together as there was an excellent kitchen and a Barbecue area at the side of the house for entertainment. During our stay we had a number of guests visit and there was more than enough room for them to be entertained in the Lodge .
There are few ,if any, faults to be found with Eaglewood Lodge and any difficulties were more than adequately dealt with by by the owner . I certainly have no difficulty in recommending the Lodge to future potential guests
