“Lovely Hotel”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

Just spent 2 nights in the Clew Bay Hotel. We traveled by train to Westport and found the hotel to be in a great location and very central.
The room was lovely, it was clean, bright and airy. We had a balcony to the river. However the room had a shower rather than a bath in the en suite.
We inquired from Reception with regards traveling out to Croagh Patrick and the most helpful receptionist organised for Maria to bring us out/back. A massive thank you to Maria :-)
We were delighted with the pass to the leisure centre that evening!!
Staff were very friendly and breakfast was cooked perfectly to order. We could not fault this hotel, we received a warm welcome with helpful and friendly staff. We would have no problem staying at Clewbay again and would highly recommend it. Thanks

Spent the weekend in Clew Bay Hotel on their cycling break. This is our second time staying here. From booking right to departure found the staff extremely helpful and friendly, especially Anton on reception. Our room was spotless, bright and airy. We ate in Madden Bistro on the Friday night and the food was fantastic. Breakfast was cooked to order along with a plentiful buffet. Darren, the owner was very welcoming. Would recommend this hotel if you are travelling to Westport for its central location, lovely accommodation, warm welcome, helpful and friendly staff. Look forward to returning to the Clew Bay Hotel again.

just back from a break in clewbay. the hotel is In a great location, clean, well appointed and food very very good. The staff are so nice and always chatty. Nellie at breakfast was very pleasant and paval at the bar was great at helping to pick our wine. however Mary at the reception was without doubt the most welcoming and friendliest person I had met there. Her local knowledge and recommendations were great. she spent so much time with us telling us where to go and what to see. she even checked the next day to see how we got on. and it was not just us that had the pleasure of her local knowledge, I heard her giving directions and recommendations to another couple that wanted to climb croagh Patrick. we did not climb croagh Patrick, although Mary tried her best to convince us to climb!!!. instead we drove to leenane and doo lough, FAB drive.
All in all we had a great stay in Westport, there is loads lovely restaurants and pubs to choose from. when we go again, we will defiantly stay at Clewbay.

The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, including organising our cycle trip and providing advice. Our twin turned out to be a mini-suite; pleasant surprise, all the more so considering the bargain price. Great breakfast and a great bar, and another pleasantly surprising contrast to Dublin bar prices.

Our choir group stayed at the Clew Bay Hotel last weekend for 2 nights. From check in to check out, we experienced outstanding service from all the staff. They were polite, friendly, and very helpful to all 26 of us. Check in was seamless, and there were hand written welcome notes for us in our rooms on arrival, together with hand made chocolates. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. Our room had a shower rather than bath in the en suite but that suited our needs. Maria and her team had booked a restaruant for us on the first night, and had also booked some of us on the Greenway cycle. Others took a guided walking tour of Westport, also arranged by the hotel. We had an excellent dinner in the hotel bistro on our second night. We were performing at a concert that night and ate early, and the hotel were very flexible in arranging a time to suit us. The breakfast buffet was extensive, and all hot food cooked perfectly to order. A thoughtful touch was the provision of a leaflet with the recipes for the hotels brown bread and granola at the buffet table... I definitely have never seen that before! I would highly recommend this hotel (in particular for the high standard of service) to anyone visiting Westport.
