We had a pleasant enough stay at The Westport Coast Hotel. Food was outstanding and staff were very friendly and helpful, especially our server Amanda. The only down side to our stay was when the couple in the adjoining room next to us started to have an argument at 3am in the morning :(. We reported this to the reception the next morning and they assured us that couple would be booking out that day! Although on returning to our room that nite....after a long day of sight seeing, the couple in question had not booked out but extended their stay, and started to row again! We went to reception again to complain. The two ladies on reception were so lovely and apologised for us being disturbed yet again. We were moved straight away, given a free bottle of wine and Fifty Euro knocked off our bill!

Room Tip: choose a room that doesn't have an adjoining door...it will be quieter and u should hear ur neig...

stayed here for 2 nights and must compliment the staff who were so friendly and helpful. Food was excellent in rooftop restaurant and they have leisure center and beauty salon. The only downside it is a little bit out of the town but would recommend a visit to this hotel

I turned up here without a booking on a wretched February night having finished late in Westport. The price was €40 which represented excellent value. The lady on reception was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The staff make the experience in the service industry. The room was surprisingly spacious. Wireless internet was fast and free. Bathroom spotless. I cannot fault the hotel. Breakfast very good. We ate at the Helm, a pub/restaurant about 50 yards down the road. Best pint of Guiness I ever had, and cod goujons unbelievable. Be warned though, the deep fried Brie wedge for starter is fantastic but the size of a door wedge ! Topped off a great stay on a rainy and cold winter's night .

Westport Coast Hotel is located at the old port west of the town in a converted old merchant building. The breakfast and evening meal in the rooftop restaurant should not be underestimated.
Local fresh produce are on the menu with a very friendly service.
Contact one of the three 'bike hire' shops who offer daily rates of €15 per bike to cycle on the Great Western Greenway from Westport to Achill island. We drove to Newport and then cycled to Mulranny and back to Newport (36km- 4 easy hours in total) on the old railway line enjoying magnificent scenery on a memorable February day. The cycle path is not difficult and bring your own bicycle if you'd prefer. Strongly recommended even if you are only a 'casual' cyclist.

Room Tip: Hotel parking at the rear, excellent food on rooftop restaurant instead of bar food on ground leve...

just back from a trip to the westport coast for valentines. we got a good three night rate and upgraded to The Clew Bay Suite. we had a lovely stay room was clean and spacious with fresh water in the room daily.

ok yes they are doing the hotel up but they have notes to inform people of this around the hotel.check in was quick and check out was the same. the spa was a world of it own. you have to visit it when staying at the hotel.

we found everything to be good. dinner and breakfast were both first class.bar food was spot on a two course for €19.95 and no small portions. there was only two small things i would say.

we got room service the first morning and i have to say we got one rasher one sausage one egg and a piece of pudding. toast was not really cooked just warm bread. we thought we were on a diet!!!!.we went down the following to morning and it was perfect.
also the pool was freezing they really need to heat it up. we had our toddler with us and we only stayed in for ten mins as he got so cold.
other than that we had a great stay. looking forward to a return visit when all the work is done.

Room Tip: ask for a few of clew bay when booking it at all possible

During a recent visit to westport & amidst the atlantic storms, I found myself availing of various treatment's in the hotels' ayurvedic spa. What an absolute joy. A week later I am still feeling the benefits. I was especially lucky to have the same therapist for each treatment, & her attention to detail & overall competence was exceptional. While the gales were howling outside, inside there was nothing but peace & calm. A return visit is essential.

Thank You Sandra, & your staff for a piece of heaven that is located on this earth, in this hotel.

Having read some of the recent reviews on here since the hotel had changed ownership I almost thought of cancelling my recent break. Having travelled 180 miles in appalling weather I received a very warm welcome upon arrival. We were given a Seaview room on the 3rd floor. It turns out that it was not one of the recently renovated ones and could probably do with some SMALL bits of maintenance due to wear and tear it certainly could not be described as 'tired' It was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. We dined in the Fish Cafe Bar and had a wonderful meal accompanied by a free bottle of quite pleasant wine.
The beds were so comfortable and probably due to the long journey the evening before we slept like logs and were up for breakfast quite late but as they serve until 1030 am this was not a problem. The breakfast was self service and you could have as much or as little as you wished. I am partial to poached eggs and although these had to be ordered it was absolutely no problem to the waiting staff. The breakfast is served on the top floor in the restaurant with its panoramic views of the harbour, Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick

We sampled lunch in the hotel on one occasion as well as afternoon tea with the delicious home made scones.

Slightly sorry that the snow cleared away and we were able to leave. I would have been content to spend another night or two in this lovely hotel. Well done to the new owners and we certainly will be returning.

Room Tip: Try to get one on an upper floor at the front
