A group of us from Kilkenny stayed in Augusta Lodge for the first time last year and we were impressed enough by the place that when it came to organising accommodation for this year we had no hesitation in booking it again for a trip to climb Croagh Patrick. That in itself is recommendation!! The B&B is in a lovely quiet location just and easy 10 minutes walk from the bustling town centre with all its many shops, pubs and restaurants. The host, Dave, could not be more friendly or helpful. The rooms are clean, well decorated and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and with a selection to suit all tastes. The grounds are well kept and the putting green proved great fun for the boys!! I would have no hesitation in recommending Augusta Lodge to friends and will definitely be staying there on any future visits to Westport!!

We are a franco-american couple with an 11 month old baby. We chose this B&B for it's reasonable price but finally, it was a great find. The room and breakfast is basic but filling and the place is very nicely decorated and comfortable, in a country home/golf clubhouse style.

The best part about our stay was Dave, who had tons of recommendations on how to explore the region, including laminated maps giving us scenic driving tours of the region (and golf courses for you fanatics). This made our vacation as there is no way we would have found these places on our own. Dave was also really helpful with our son - he had a cot, a highchair and was flexible on letting us use his kitchen for feeding. In addition, the salon was comfortable to lounge in while using the computer and watching our son explore the room.

We got great service from the moment we arrived. We asked about soya milk for breakfast and it was no problem at all. It was nice to be left to get on with our own thing when we wanted, but there was also always someone on hand to answer a query when we needed it. Our hosts were very good at giving us direction in the area and suggesting activities for us.

Our room was exactly what we needed - clean, quiet and comfortable.

We didn't hire a car, and this location was fine for us - within walking distance of the town along the local roads, or the Quay area through the lovely grounds of Westport house.

Also, the place is right next to the local pitch & putt and the golf course - and the host is mad about golf, so if that's your thing this is the only place in Westport you need to stay!

We booked this at the last minute for a one night stop-over in Westport while travelling back up north from Galway. We were travelling with our 1 year old son, and we were all made to feel very welcome. A cot was set-up in our room and we were given a great room at the back of the house with its own door out to the car and the garden which was much appreciated. Great place with great hosts, and a fantastic breakfast as well!
