Won a break in a raffle. Delighted with our stay. Staff were very helpful. Room was comfortable even with the 2 kids. Food was good, especially breakfast. The best thing about the hotel isits location, unbeatable, right in the centre but not noisy, not full of stag and hens parties. Leisure centre arrangement with nearby centre works smoothly, very near. Cinema is right there too and all the bars etc.

This was our second stay in The Wyatt after a lovely break there a couple of years ago (when we got a great low-season deal). We were both very happy to see that the hotel has retained its cosy ambience and they also indulged our request for one of the same, quaint attic rooms overlooking the square.

The Wyatt is brilliantly located at The Octagon and is a short stroll from Westport's bars and restaurants but, since the hotel's own bar - JW's - is just about perfect, that could be academic! It even has its own underground carpark although it does fill up quickly.

Breakfast is served in the large, tastefully decorated restaurant and consists of the usual (self-served) cereals, fresh fruit, juices etc followed by a hot option ordered from the menu - all very tasty!

As far as we're concerned, it's the only place to stay in Westport.

  • Liked — Its relaxed atmosphere and great location.
  • Disliked — Leaving it!

Three nights over New Year's Eve--two rooms, family of five traveling. The rooms were fine, not great, but fine.

The breakfast was pretty good in the mornings, but the restaurant smelled so strongly of cleaning fluid each morning that my daughter stopped going in after the first day.

The worst part: don't actually expect to sleep. The hotel does huge business for weddings and parties. I listened to mangled versions of 80's American hits until 2 a.m. every night.

The best part: the location is excellent for exploring Westport, and Westport is a lovely town.

Average value for Ireland; pleasant but not superior staff (may be due to heavy booking); don't be afraid of the hotel bar...a pint there is about the same as a pint anywhere.

Room was basic. Bed was uncomfortable. Night staff were highly unhelpful and the advertised 24 room service was not available which was most dissapointing. Would not go back.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a CIE Tour. The hotel is a smaller, quaint, older hotel; a little tired, but with a great location, good food, excellent Irish breakfast and a friendly and helpful staff. The dining room was nice and cozy. Westport is a smaller town, with lots of shops. We did a lot of walking here, and enjoyed it.

One note, in parts of the hotel the electrical outlets didn't seem to want to take newer adapters, many people in our tour group had problems with that.

As stated in earlier reviews, The Wyatt is located in the heart of Westport. It is clean and well maintained by its very pleasant staff. The staff always had time for my wife and I when we needed recommendations for meals or shopping. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly especially Cormac. We are from Charleston, South Carolina which is fameous for its hospitality. The hospitality of the city of Westport is impressive, it may even surpass that of Charleston. We plan to return to Westport and we will stay at The Wyatt.

Myself and my wife decided to take a trip to Westport as we had never been there before and had heard so many great things about the area.

We went online and searched hotels in the area and decided on the Wyatt Hotel,

We arrived at 12:00 noon and our rooms were ready, which was a great relief after our long drive from Dublin. We stayed in killarney a few months back and when we arrived our rooms were not ready and we had to wait until almost 15:00 for them to be ready.

The rooms were excellent, large, clean, good size bathroom ( not the boxes that some hotels have :-) , tv and large double bed.

We were a little tired after our drive, so we decided to relax for an hour or two and have lunch in our room. We ordered room service and in just a few minutes soup and sandwiches had arrived. Excellent service.

Later that evening we went to the restaurant in the hotel for dinner. We were seated immediately and the food was excellent.

Afther dinner we went into the bar for a few drinks to relax, again the service was excellent, we never left our seat once as the lounge staff took care of the drinks for us for the whole night.

All the staff in the hotel seemed very friendly and welcoming at all times during our stay.

We were supposed to only stay here one night and then go to Galway for 2 nights before heading back to Dublin. However we were so pleased with the Wyatt we decided to spend the rest of the weekend here and book 2 more nights stay.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to anyone who want a pleasant and quality stay in Westport.

Best regards,
Fion
