“Amazing staff but hard to get a good nights sleep”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2011

I want to start off this review by saying that the staff at this hotel are amazing. they are very friendly, not in your face and very helpful when you asked them. With that in mind I believe that every hotel may have bells and whistles, amazing chefs and fancy decor but they one thing that they must ensure that every guest has is a good nights sleep. I did not have that luxury and for the two nights i stayed here i had to use earplugs. the neighboring hotel the castlecourt has weddings which blast music till the small hours. The smoking area which can be busier that most pubs was approx 100 yards from our room, thus the earplugs. this was noted on checking out and we were told to maybe book during the week when it was less busy when there was no weddings! Couldnt beleive it! I dont think id stay here again.

Room Tip: ask for a plaza view, otherwise bring earplugs.....good ones

Dear Guest

We are very sorry that you were disturbed by noise during your stay. In hindsight if you had mentioned it to us after the first night we could have moved you to a different part of the hotel for the second night.

Due to our town centre location there can occasionally be noise as Westport is a lively town and it has been a very busy Summer. Many of our guests would be using the bar or going out at night or attending weddings etc in the area and for them noise would not be an issue. I would reccommend that if a quiet weekend is what you are looking for to please mention it to us at the time of booking .

I do hope that you may in time consider returning in which case I invite you to contact me personally so that I can make the arrangements for you on the next occasion. I will make sure that you receive a room in a quieter part of the hotel.

Your sincerely

John Clesham

We love Westport and this is definately the place to stay in the Town (not harbour). We spent 3 nights here from 18th August. It is a nice 4* Hotel. the downs are that children are not permitted in the Sauna, Steam or Juccuzzi. Changing rooms could be kept better. The plus side is the quiet nights and comfortably beds! You can walk to any place in the town as the position of the hotel is so convenient. They have free underground parking. We hadn't pre-booked treatments but they were still able to accomodate us which was nice. If you're thinking of staying in Westport look no further!

I stayed at the Westport Plaza Hotel as a part of a 3 night spa package with my Mum and my sister and I can definitely say I will be returning. The value was incredible. Our package was €275 pps for 3 nights B&B, 2 dinners and 1 spa treatment. The room was very comfortable, stylish and spacious for 3 guests. The Restaurant Merlot where we dined on the two nights was fantastic and the food was amazing quality to be included in such a great value package, a meal is easily worth €75 pp on its own and it was great that it was included. I was also very impressed with the spa, one of the best I've been too and package included a full 1 hour treatment. The thermal suite is fab especially the outdoor hotub. The hotel is a 5 minute walk into town with free parking. Great experience and I will definitely return.

We had a great family stay here. The rooms were clean, comfortable and easily accommodated 2 adults & 2 kids. We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was generous and the food generally was very good, I used the spa which was fabulous and we all enjoyed the pool. There was amble car parking and we really couldn’t find fault.

Would definitely go back in we’re in Westport.
