We stayed here for 2 nights in August and were very pleased with the hotel, the room, the staff and the all the facilities. We had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant as part of our 2 day package and couldn’t fault it. The hotel is very well located to the town centre and it’s a really nice town with plenty of bars and restaurant etc in a wonderful west of Ireland location. I would especially mention the front desk staff who were excellent, it just felt like they did really care that we had a good stay and were very open to hear if we had any complaints or problems which thankfully we didn’t. They are very good ambassadors for the hotel asking us would we stay again and letting us know of upcoming special offers etc when we checked out. It makes such a change from the usual disinterested sullen staff you encounter in other hotels.

Beautiful hotel in the centre of Westport, helpful staff and luxury beds. The hotel is easy to access, the rooms are large and comfortable with flat screen TVs, beautiful modern bathrooms with separate large shower. The breakfast was good, but would have expected a greater range of cheese, cold meats and fish for people who don't like the traditioanl Irish breakfast, the will make you a very nice omlette. We got a great deal on line for two nights B&B for two people at 150 euro. Westport is a wonderful town for a break, great restuarants (and some dodgy ones) with fabulous bars. Try T. Bourkes just down the road from the hotel, a great old bar with contemporay seating and comfort. An Port Mor restaurant was fantastic and the Asgard Pub which is out of the town by the quays was great for food also.

Stayed at the Plaza for 3 nights on a deal which included breakfast each morning and one evening meal. The Plaza shares with the Castlecourt Hotel where guests share the leisure suite and spa. Check in was very smooth and efficient and everything was explained by the friendly and courteous staff. Our room was on the first floor and overlooked the roof garden. The room was very spacious and the marble bathroom was fantastic ,it contained a jacuzzi bath and shower.Shower gel shampoo etc was also included. The bedroom had a flatscreen TV, mini bar, tea coffee making facilities and a great bed. Guests also get one free movie to watch each evening. Overall the room and facilities within it were fab. Breakfast was buffet style with a great selection of hot and cold food. This hotel probably served one of the best breakfasts I have come across on my travels. Again credit to the waiting staff who could not do enough for you. On our first night we ate in the plaza bar again the menu offered a good selection of food and it had also some specials to offer as well. For a flavour of selection and prices we had Grilled Sirloin Steak with chips, onions and mushrooms and Trout special which included mash potatoes and a selection of vegetables. A good selection of sweets was available also. The prices were 19.95 euros for the steak and 13.95 for the trout. The sweets were 5.80 euros each. There was a good wine list with red and white wines starting at 19.95 euros. A glass of wine was 5.50 euros and a pint of guinness 3.70 euros. Dinner on our second night was taken in the Merlot resturant, again the food was fantastic and it finished with tea coffee and biscuits. We used the thermal suite which was fantastic with the outdoor jacuzzi. The location of the hotel is good and it is only a short walk to the centre of town where there is a good selection of bars etc. The hotel has underground parking for guests. A fantastisc stay would definately return and definately recommend.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days in early September. We got the gold package (and got the silver package complimentary because it was our honeymoon) and it was just outstanding. Jacuzzi tub in the beautiful marble bathroom. Wine, chocolates, homemade brownies and spa products waiting for us in the room. The room itself is very big, clean and modern and the bed is fab, could sleep forever there. All guests also got a free movie every night which is great.

Dinner was included in our package in the Merlot and it was absolutely amazing. You would not expect it to be part of a package with such an abundance of choices and the food is top class. There were 3 very decent sized courses and then tea or coffee with homemade biscuits to finish. The buffet breakfast is what makes any hotel trip for my husband and I (we sound like glutons) because we love the choice and the cooked breakfasts. The Plaza did not disappoint. Loads of options in the cooked and cold section, cakes and different breads and cereals, fruit salads and lots of different juices. Toast and tea is brought to your table hot with the most to die for creamy butter. If none of the above is to taste, you can order what you like also. We also ate in the bar one night and there is a great selection and what we had was very tasty.

We only went to the leisure centre once, and it was good. Not the best we have been in but it did the job. The Spa is just out of this world. The thermal suite is the best I have seen so far and I just loved the outdoor jacuzzi tub. We got a treatment each. Himself a massage and I got a facial and it was one of the most enjoyable experiences. The relaxation room is just heaven and you could almost go for a little snooze.

The location of the hotel is brilliant. Just a minutes walk to the town but absolutely no traffic or town noise in the rooms (we had a room overlooking a garden).

All in all, we had an absolutely fantastic stay here and cannot wait to return, possibly for our first anniversary.

Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the garden (possibly the rooftop garden although it looked like it was gr...

Our golfing group decided that this year we would help our faltering economy and stay in Ireland instead of taking our annual trip to Portugal.

It was with trepidation that we set out, as the skies were grey and the weather reports not good. There was no need to worry. The weather, as expected, was not as good as Portugal but everything else more than made up for this. The hotel was simply superb, the staff likewise and the food out of this world.

The hotel is situated in the heart of the lovely town of Westport and very close to the wonderful Westport Golf club. Go there!!

BO'H and the 14 golfers.
