“comfort at croagh patrick”

I had dinner here 30 years ago and have friends in Murrisk (next town on the coast road). You can see Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick from the hotel and the rooms are spacious, very clean and truly comfortable. The restaurant is still one of the best in the area and the fire in the sitting room, with a cup of tea, is perfect. I was traveling with a group of friends as we've been doing for three decades. Each said it was one of the best hotels we've been to.
Service is helpful, friendly and professional. It's a short walk to the quay and Westport itself, a lively town with great pubs.

Room Tip: Get a seaview room if you can. It's not right on the bay but you can see it from the upper floor...

We spent the bank holiday weekend here and I have to say I had a wonderful time. We were getting away for a relaxing and chilli out weekend beofre the birth of our second child and I don't think that we could have picked a nicer place to spend our much needed break. A beautiful room and such helpful and curteous staff were just some of the wonderful qualities we experienced. We will definately be returning!!

The hotel was pretty good, and the guy at reception was competent and pleasant. He should get a raise, but his colleagues should be fired. The bedroom we had was very nice, large and well furnished. The bathroom looks like it was refurbished in 1992 though. And the pillow were too soft.

The hotel was in a good location, near the quays and a 20 min. walk to the town via the bike track.

Even though the hotel was full, it was very quiet, and the public areas were over furnished (by a woman with a Laura Ashley fetish). There was annoying piped music, perhaps to take the edge off the silence.
I didn't eat there, mainly because the breakfast was so poor. They burned everything the could, and the woman serving was basically intent on clearing everything before we had finished.

Stayed for two nights. Great place. Helped with all our day trip planning. Room was spotless with a great view. Dined on second night which we enjoyed greatly. Thanks for making or stay so great. Will be back again in summer.

A warm welcome was the start of 3 very plesant days in this area. We had 2 rooms and both were very comfortable and well appointed although we did find it a bit on the cold side as the heating was not on. Breakfast was excelent and Pat was very helpfull with great directions to see places most tourists would miss. The evening meals are 1st class and the view from the dinning area is very relaxing. Noreen ensures your every need is catered for and more than helpfull with good advice on local events and shopping in the town just a short drive away.
The local village is a pleasing walking distance and offers a variaty of venues to stagger back from after a pint or 3. We would be happy to return and have no hesitation in recomending you stay and enjoy the tranquility and hospitality.

Booked this place for one night, wish it had been more. Once you find it, it is a special home away from home. Somewhat off the beaten path (one of the few places our GPS couldn't get us to!) it is a serene retreat. The gal that runs the place is oh so nice and helpful and seems to do just about everything there from welcoming you to serving the dinner. The room was huge and comfortable with a gorgeous view. My wife and I took a walk to the quay and got pictures of the only Irish sunset we saw during our entire trip. A short drive gets you to downtown Westport which is a great town. If you are looking for peace and quite in a spacious room, look no further.

Comfortable and welcoming, hidden on a hill, lovely views, good sized rooms. Just the place for a relaxing visit to Westport. And, so important as the weather turns cool, well heated rooms. An excellent restaurant, whether you are staying in Ardmore Country House, or staying nearby, or just passing through this region, which is a hidden gem of Ireland.
