Our stay was ok but the ordeal in actually finding the house in the maze of one way streets and not helpful directions from the owner clouded our experience.
Excellent location, just a few mins walk into town. House itself is very homely. I've rented other houses previously for a weeks vacation and this is by far the best I've come across. Plenty of towels and bedding, plus spare, and loads of loo roll too and hand wash in the bathrooms. Plus plenty of bits and bobs in the kitchen cupboards like cooking oil, salt, etc. The double/king room sizes are very decent, all with ensuites and plenty of hanging space and lots of hangers provided. All in all, superb rental and would highly recommend to others, and the owners were very easy to deal with ... 5 stars all the way!
Plenty of room for 8 of us to stay, nice big bedrooms, 3 with ensuite. Good facilities and we enjoyed lighting the real fire when it was a bit chilly at night. It was great that the owner left us tea, coffee, biscuits, hand wash, toilet roll etc upon arrival.
Great location, right in the centre of Westport, house is situated on a lovely little quiet street with the table and chairs on a raised decking area outside which was really quiet and private.
Stayed 1 week, mid July. Very spacious home, on 3 levels. 10-15 minute walk to center of Westport, weather permitting. 5 minute drive to 2 car parks [pay & display]. From the car parks, about 100 meters to main streets. Home, being on 3 levels, probably not recommended to those who cannot climb 1 or 2 flights of stairs. There are NO bedrooms on ground level. Home was well decorated and possibly painted and carpeted recently. The kitchen was large and had a table with 6 chairs. There were 2 stools, in case you wanted to seat 8. No clothes dryer, but lines in a sheltered area in back of unit. Pretty quiet, since it is the end unit, and the folks next door were not there during there during our visit. Got to use their parking slot, since our assigned one was pretty tight. Bedding was extremely comfortable.GREAT little "Centra" market across the street. Even had petrol pumps. VERY clean and neat. Have emailed owner after our return with some suggestions. She wrote back thanking me for them. All in all a quite enjoyable stay. 2 other couple were expected to join us, but had to cancel. Therefore, our stay was a little "pricey" for just 2 folks. But it is high season, so expected to pay more. Would recommend to anyone who wants to be close to this charming little town. Even went to a community play about St. Patrick one night. Owner had a couple of good suggestions for restaurants. Tried them both and agreed with her. Central location for touring County Mayo.
Distillery court was a great location to explore Westport and the surrounding area! The house was comfortable for our family and very roomy.
The house was exactly as advertised and it was very nice! It was a very short walk to the main shopping district of Westport. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.
We stayed in Laura's clean, comfortable condo for a week this May. We were visiting in the area with family. The condo was well set up for a group, and there are other B&Bs nearby for more guests if a group is very large. The location was excellent. We could easily walk to town and the train station. There are shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. Westport is a lovely town to visit, and a good spot to use as a base when touring the area. We would wholeheartedly recommend this holiday rental.
