Stayed for 5 nights with family. Hotel on the outside looks good, on the inside is a different story. Could do with a refurb. Carpets and furniture are grubby in public areas except main restaurant which is well maintained. The room we had was a classic room, this was well cleaned but in need of new furniture and carpet as this was grubby and worn. The hotel in general was really clean. The bar food wasn't very nice. The breakfast was of good standard, typical irish breakfast with continental fayre as well. One or two of the staff who served us at breakfast and weren't from Ireland could do with a personality change. They were not very friendly at all. This goes against the rest of the staff who were excellent throughout the hotel. This hotel actually is a decent hotel but it could be better with a well deserved refurb.

Room Tip: Opt for executive rooms

Booked this hotel for one night, paid 150euro for 2 people b&b, hotel was dated and need refurbed however it was clean. The lady on reception was very pleasant and helpful and breakfast was OK. The bedroom whilst clean was dated and quite shabby, curtain linings were torn, furniture quite badly scuffed and the connecting door to the next room was left unlocked, have to say though that having reported this, it was sorted. Really do not feel it was good value for money, I know it was a Saturday and that things get that wee bit more expensive however we booked into 5 star hotel during our visit in the republic for 210 euro fro two people B&B for two nights. This hotel would not be rated as 4 star as far as I am concerned although obviously it has the gym/leisure facilities

Stayed here for a weekend in August. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the centre of the town and plenty of parking on site. The bar lacked atmosphere but it was comfortable they seem to hold a lot of weddings (1 each day I was here) and most of the time it was full with wedding guests waiting for the happy couple to arrive or couples with children staying in the hotel.
I decided not to upgrade the room for 20 euro extra per person as we were only using it to rest our heads. As you can see from any other reviews that stayed in this type of room there was a big difference between the standard. It was older but everything worked. Bathroom was clean. The shower lacked a bit of power but otherwise everything was ok. I did not see mould growing around the bath etc as some pictures have shown. Infact it looked as if has recently been re-grouted. Overall the room could use a bit of TLC to freshen it up.
One thing was the smell of smoke, we had a smoking room but it was overpowering you could even smell it in the hallways of the hotel. We kept the windows open to try and clear it.
I did not eat a dinner/lunch but the the breakfast was good. The usual Irish breakfast, rashers, sausages etc with cerals and fruit available. Even though it appeared to be busy we were not left waiting and tea/toast arrived quickly.
Swimming pool, Suana, steam room were all good. However you need a swimming hat for the pool and they were quite pricey when bought at the hotel.
Overall nice bu be sure to get one of the "upgraded rooms" If I had of brought my wife instead of being with friends I would have been disappointed.

Stayed there with 2 children in August, staff especially the waitresses in Restaurant and bar were very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, the breakfasts lovely. Our room was a family room which was spacious. We had a lovely stay at the Tullamore, the only thing I would comment on was the carpet in the bedroom, it was old and stained, and needed replaced.

The staff at this hotel, from the reception to the bar and restaurant staff were top notch, really easy to deal with and seemed to want to make your stay as good as possible.
Myself and my girlfriend stayed for 2 nights, midweek with B&B and and evening meal. We had champagne and choc strawberries on arrival in our room. Also a late checkout untill 2.00pm on last day. All for €310.
The suite which we stayed in was simply the best room i have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The suite was very large with a seperate louge area with leather suite of furniture, seperate office area and bar/tea/coffee area. Both the lounge and the bedroom had large sliding door access to a balcony area. The room came with a nice TV, surround sound system and DVD player. The bedroom had what seemed to be a super kingsize bed, seperate dressing area and an en-suite with double jacuzzi tub, double steam shower and double vanity area. It even had an docking station to play music while enjoying a jacuzzi.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a suite, they are a real touch of luxury for what i consider to be a very reasonab...
