I visited this hotel recently with a friend.Overall its a nice middle of the road hotel. Its located a little bit outside the city roughly a twenty minute walk or five to ten minute drive into sligo city center.Sligo is a lovely city with lots to offer.
Rooms are clean and comfortable and affordable.
The hotel amenties are basic enough no major frills but their is a leisure centre and bar/restaurant etc.Menu is a little limited. However what the hotel does have is exceptional customer service. The staff are extremely courteous, helpful and very friendly. In particular with advising you of restaurants places to go and always done with a smile, a major plus for any hotel.
My only gripe which is not the fault of the hotel but unfortunatly some of the other hotel guests.
When we stayed, their was a large 300+ wedding taking place and it also was a bank holiday weekend resulting in a large proportion of unsupervised children running up and down the corridors and playing in the lifts etc as children will do if left to their own devices.
This was very evident on the floor we stayed on.We could hear children and adults talking loudly outside our room and running up and down the corridors and going in /knocking on doors etc during the day and early in the morning 7_8am
Again not the hotels fault if hotel residents have no respect for their fellow patrons who too are trying to enjoy their hotel stay. Family/child friendly hotel does not equal unsupervised and other paying guests deserve to enjoy a peaceful stay too .Also to note the hotel housekeeping staff could be heard hoovering the corridors at 8.45am.I appreciate they have lots of rooms etc to do but this along with the noisy children and loud voices etc did not equate to a good nights sleep. This is unfortunatly reflected in my overall score rating and it would have been higher if i had slept!!! I probably would
stay here again but not on a bank holiday weekend and would most definitely check in advance to see if a wedding was taking place just for my sanity!!!
Well done to the sligo park hotel for their wonderful staff though they are a credit to them.
