Great location and a lovely hotel! Close to several cafes, bars and restaurants, the hotel is an ideal place to stay for a weekend. The service was excellent and the room was immaculate, I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this hotel. good value

My wife and I are regular visitors to Ireland and this was our first visit to Sligo and the North West.
The Hotel is superb inside. the staff are great and the rooms are excellent. The one minor criticism I would make is that the restaurant which seemed to have good write ups offered a very modest menu which for my wife who does not eat meat but will eat fish had a choice of 1 and even for the meat eaters amongst us the choice was poor. What was on offer was well cooked and presented but more choice would be good. We could not find any restaurants in the town that offered anything more enticing. Although the countryside around is beautiful Sligo itself
offers absolutely nothing and is dull and depressing. If the Town fathers want to make it into a tourist centre they should pay more attention to all the dowdy buildings and empty shops and generally brighten the place up. We were going to stay 3 nights but after walking round town for an hour on our second morning decided to cut our losses, leave a day early and go back to Dublin.

Dear Richard S
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience here with us at The Glasshouse. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and found our staff great and rooms excellent. We are disappointed to read your comments on Sligo town as we feel we have plenty of good restaurants in the town centre including Eala Bhan, Bistro Bianconni, Casa a Mia, The Embassy & Fiddlers Creek to name but a few. There are also plenty of tourist attractions in the town centre including Sligo Abbey, The Yeats Building, The Model Niland Gallery & many historical statues. We hope that we can welcome you back to Sligo and that you get a chance to sample some of our restaurants & tourist attractions.
Kind regards,
The Glasshouse Team

We stayed in this hotel, on a three week tour of Ireland. Its very modern and upbeat, the bar and restaurant are impressive and the location is amazing. The room facility is great and very comfortable. Food is very good and the staff were very kind. The reception staff were courteous but not very friendly, informative of the area and tours. We loved this place and would recommend it to anyone, lots of craic, and affordable prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our room was quiet enough and comfortable, the bar was exceptional and inviting. Thanks for a great stay. The girls from texas :)

The staff are very friendly, also the duty manager.
When booking if you are booking on line with booking.com the price is for
room ONLY. So it would better to ring the hotel then there are no mix up's .

The hotel is hard to get around more signs wouldn't go a miss.
There is a door into the under ground car park this could do with a window in it .
For safety. To see who is on the other side of it. For the older and younger .

Other then items above I found the hotel clean and tidy and a happy place.
Please go and see Sligo from this hotel.

Room Tip: All room are good

My friend and I arrived at the Glasshouse around 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon, I must admit I was a bit wary of the car park, having read some of the comments on here. I found the car park extremely easy to find, thanks to several brown information signs around the city loop. The car park was well lit and there was plenty of spaces - it is also complimentary for guests in the hotel.

Check in was easy and fast, we found our room easily. My word - it was amazing. A word of caution - if you do not like modern art, bright colours, and big windows, this is not the hotel for you. We loved the bright green colours in the room, the floor to ceiling windows were amazing, the beds comfortable, the toiletries in the bathroom were of a very high standard, the mineral water was a lovely touch..the bathrobes were designed for folks a lot smaller than us but that was not a problem.

I cannot fault this hotel, we had dinner on the first evening and although the restaurant menu was lovley, we both wanted chicken maryland which was on the bar menu. The Chicken Maryland was delivered with a smile and WOW, it was amazing. The staff were polite, professional and nothing was too much trouble for them.

The View Bar, which we discovered on the morning we were leaving was a fabulous place to sit over a coffee and watch the world go by. I loved the rich purples of the upholstry. The fact that we were the only 2 people in it was fantastic.

I cannot thank the staff of the hotel enough for the fnatastic service which we received for our stay and I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone.

I cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: 426 is on the corner of the 4th floor - fabulous!

We went to Sligo on a whim, just to see a bit more of the country before we headed back down toward Dublin. Both the city and the hotel were more than we could have hoped for - The Glasshouse was fun and swanky, but also comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. Our room had a balcony overlooking the canal, which gave us a lovely view of both the city and the hills beyond. Other than a lack of air conditioning (which who knew we would need in the north of Ireland in late September!?), the room had all the amenities we could wish and gave us a great place to re-charge on arrival and a great central location to explore all the pubs we wanted to visit! Also every room has its own wifi router: GENIUS. We had a great time!

Ideal location next to the river which allows residents to walk around the town. Hotel was busy and lively. Rooms were clean and fairly large only problem was our room was equipped for wheelchair use which meant sink in bathroom was very low. Breakfast was self service but good. Would definitely stay here again
