“Excellent stop; very scenic ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2014 via mobile

If you're traveling in Southern Ireland, make the stop...you won't regret it. It is about 2km from the car park to the base of the falls, but it's worth the hike. Very easy walk, not too much elevation gain. Great for kids to stretch their legs and run off some energy. Amazing views of the surrounding countryside and mountains...very serene area.
Note-there are no amenities, shops, or toilets (except nature).

“A scenic 2km walk - perfect distance for young kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2014

I enjoyed this 2 kilometer out and back walk to the Mahon Falls which are situated in a very scenic part of the Comeragh mountains.

My young children thought it was a great adventure and I was delighted to see them running on ahead along the winding, rolling gravel path that leads to the falls.

“Nice drive and beautiful walk!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2013

We enjoyed the scenic drive up the mountain followed by the short walk to the waterfall. It is not the most exciting waterfall but still worth the trip. It was a blustery day so the walk was invigorating! There is a free parking lot and a path leading up to the falls. We climbed on the rocks and took a lot of pictures. You can see quite a way into the distance and on a clear day you can see the sea. There are sheep grazing all over as well! This is a great off the beaten track attraction and a chance for some exercise.
