Beautiful exterior & reception as per photo's on the various web sites. We found all reception, housekeeping & restaurant staff were very helpful & friendly. Our room contained a double & a single bed but the double was so incredibly tiny that we had to use both beds in order to get any sleep at all! Room contained hair dryer, safe & some tourist information. Nice to have spare pillows in the wardrobe. 24 hour porter available. Strangely they offered free toiletries if required - razers etc but very disappointed that there was no tea or coffee in the rooms & cost was €2.50 plus a porter charge of €6 per person. There is a sightly stuffy looking restaurant which proved to offer a lovely breakfast (didn't try the evening menu). Also a delightful & large bar but prices were shockingly high (€11.20/£8.70 for a single liqueur plus a coke) & bar staff somewhat curt. There is no hotel parking but a public park immediately opposite on the quayside at a cost of €5 per night (6pm to 11am), daily rates were around €1.70 p/hr & €7.50 per day (not absolutely certain of these prices). Be aware that there is a very, very busy 4-lane road out front between the hotel & the quay side although no noise penetrated inside hotel as far as we could detect so just be sure to use the crossings. Hotel was not as clean as I would expect - just general diatrus on the carpets. I was surprised that the hotel was undergoing renovation as there was no notice of this at booking - this did not concern us at all but I imagine would be problematic to some, especially as there was a strong smell of paint.

We used this hotel to break our journey between the port of Rosslare & our final destination near Limerick so it served its' purpose but we wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer.

Paid €89/£69 for single night B&B for 2
(Current exchange rate €1 to £0.78)

stayed here for two nights as part of a supervalu getaway breaks, two nights B&B and one evening meal. we were a group of 10, 5 couples. the rooms were varied with some large and some small and some small but on a split level. the rooms were warm even with the heating off, if you leave the windows open then there is noise from the road on one side and noise from the kitchen on the other side. one of our group had a fall going to the bathroom at night in the split level room, so these rooms were impractical, the decor is a little dated but the lobby area is being renovated at the moment. the staff were friendly and helpful especially the waiting staff in the resturant, the food was lovely and you got as much as you wanted. the location is perfect so near the shops and the nightlife. we parked in the car park on the quay , not the one directly opposite the hotel but a little further down the quay, this one is cheaper and cost 5.50 until you take your car out regardless of how many hours or days you stay. i would go back to this hotel again .

Stayed here for two nights with my partner and his parents. Myself and my partner got to stay in the hotels suite which is lovely and spacious. The bathroom could have been a little more modern but was still fine. The in laws we're in a standard room which was hust as nice but a little cluthered. Hotel is old and has some great period furniture. Bed is a little too hard for our liking. Bar food was ok, also ate in hotel restaurant which was great staff lovely and food great. My only down side is hotel lobby was being done up during our stay and I know this has to be done but it woul have been nice to know this at booking. We only booked a week and a half in advance. A little annoying avoiding ladders, paint pots and bags everywhere. But this was mainly down to untidy painters. Overall good stay and would return.

I stayed in the hotel at the weekend (2 night b&b and one evening meal for 99 euros a night) and when i arrived their was a mix up with the dates but the staff on reception were very friendly and efficient and had the problem fixed very quickly.

The room wasnt great pretty average nothing amazing we were at the very top of the hotel (4th floor up) but the most disappointing part was the bathroom it was tiny. The sink was right beside the toilet so you couldnt stand in front of the sink you had to stand sideways or sit on the toilet seat to be in front of the mirror. The tap was quite powerful so I got soaked a few times.

The car park facilities are poor. The hotel doesnt have their own car park you have to use the local car park but the hotel wont pay for your car parking even though you are staying in their hotel. What hotel today doesnt pay for car parking. Be prepared to pay an over night charge of 5.50 per night and a further 1.70 for every hour after that. Over the weekend I paid up to 15 euros on car parking alone.

The highlight of the weekend is the standard of their food. The meals were fantastic, the choice on the menu was great it would suit everyones needs. The menu didnt change over the two nights but that wasnt an issue because there was so much choice. BUT!! as i said at the start be prepared for hidden charges. The deal we had was that the meal on one night was included so we thought that we would only have to pay for the wine that we ordered - no problem at all but that didnt happen. You are given a voucher to give to your waitress on arrival we offered this and that was fine but at the end of the meal we werent shown a bill or a receipt to sign so we didnt what the charge was the waitress just said we could go. When we checked out on the sunday we were ready to pay the extra 23 euros for the wine that we had ordered from the friday night but there was an extra charge of 48 euros!! (thats the equivalent of an extra bottle of wine and a fillet steak!!) when we questioned this the woman behind reception said we didnt use the "correct menu" on the friday night. What menu?? No one told us that we had to use a certain menu just because we had a voucher - these were the extra charges for the items that we had ordered from the main menu - very bad form
So thats why i titled this "be prepared for hidden extra charges!!" instead of paying 198 for 2 nights and 23 for a bottle of wine we ended up with 198+48 (they did remove the extra 25 charge eventually)+15 for car parking
Maybe just go there for dinner and get a taxi back its cheaper :)
