You arrive by ferry, because the castle is on an island. The castle is small as castles go, but lovely and gracious. We were entracned by our quiet encounter, in the back parkland, with a herd of small European deer.
The staff were terrific. They asked us straight off at what time we would like dinner, and we choose to eat in the bar, which proved a very wise choice when Eugene whisked a white tablecloth over our coffee table and proceeded to serve us a delicious meal. When I complimented the choice of music, little did I suspect that, upon our departure the next morning, I would be handed an envelope with five CDs that Eugene had made for our trip!More
