We stayed two nights in August 2013 as our last two nights in Ireland of our two week vacation. The hotel was lovely, reception staff was helpful, room (suite) was lovely as well. Bed was comfortable. This was our most expensive stay while in Ireland but it was nice. There was a big claw-foot tub, toilet with a raised tank on the wall that you pull the chain to flush, very large sitting area in the bedroom, a separate library room and a large entry room into the suite. This is much like my bedroom at home so it was nice to have some space and not feel as crowded as we had been in the other (average) hotels we had stayed at. We loved that it's a short two minute ferry ride across to the island that the castle sits on. And loved the deer and rabbits out on the golf course. I would have loved to play golf but we had sight-seeing plans. The pro shop was nice. We picked up some souvenirs. Breakfast was good. One thing I was disappointed about was they offer afternoon tea (which I've had for free at any other hotel I've been to that offered it) but it certainly wasn't free here. It was actually quite expensive. It's disappointing when you pay a lot to stay someplace and there's extra costs involved.
