Stayed here for 3 nights recently whilst on a coach trip, accommodation was wonderful, room decent size, very clean. Food that we had every night was excellent, even though we were with a coach party we had a 3 course selection from hotel's main menu. Staff all very helpful, polite & smart. The hotel is situated right opposite the river & it is within easy walking distance of main shopping area & attractions. Would definitely recommend & use again when in the area.

Dooley Hotel is well situated and has friendly staff and good accommodations. For those with disabilities the arrange of floors and stairs may pose a problem. Hotel has WIFI but it is weak and did not reach our second floor room so I had to sit in the lobby to do business. Further, there is an outrageous charge for WIFI.

My boyfriend and I have stayed here on a number of occasions in the last few years and all I can say is wonderful friendly staff, fabulous spotless rooms, lovely breakfast and great value! My only complaint is that we won't be back to Dooley's in the near future! Would highly recommend.

Last week ( 15th July) We booked into this hotel at around 9pm - bags were taken to rooms and we went straight into the dining room. Two coaches of tired travellers were seated, service was excellent and the meal was not only a pleasure to eat but it was hot to. No hanging around I was truely amazed at the speed and efficiency the dining room operated. All meals were to an excellent standard and the breakfasts left nothing more to be desired.
The hotel is clean, the rooms spacious (with toiletries). Central location. I did not hear anything other than prise from fellow travellers.

On our recent tour of Ireland this was the most disappointing hotel we stayed in. The room was on the small side. The bathroom was very small and not up to the standards we encountered elsewhere. Our room was on the side of the hotel next to the street, and the traffic noise was noticeable. Wi-fi would only work in the hotel lobby and free wi-fi was limited to one hour. The restaurant was merely adequate.

Room Tip: Waterford is interesting, but there may be better choices for a hotel.

I came to Ireland on a church group tour of 32 people, and Dooleys Hotel was our first place to stay. Very pleasant hotel that is a bit dated, but clean and food was incredible for a hotel serving large groups. We had a room facing the river. I don't recall if the hotel had air conditioning, but the temperature was in the 60s(F) in July and didn't need it. The window opened for fresh air, but the river side road was a main one so might have too much traffic noise for light sleepers. People with no sense of direction may be confused as the room numbering and stairwells going to half levels in some places were the most nonsensical I've ever seen. I would stay there again. Unfortunately for the small city, where Waterford Crystal shut down most local production and took 3000 of the best middle class jobs in the process, it is a very deeply depressed town without much reason to visit.

Room Tip: Ask for one in the back if you need peace. Views are not much.
