Stayed one night. First given room with Disabled Facilities and requested another room - got one -same corridor - view and noise of extractor fans on roof. Had to keep windows closed because of noise so sweltered in the heat. nice shiny loo paper. Had to go looking for food in the bar. really bad service. Food ok. Rang Manager to complain and got a hostile reception - no apologies - no explanation why Disbled room was given when others available. Told me rooms were fine as far as she was conserned. Was told would ring me back after checking with Bar manager about bad service. Still waiting - I imagine she is busy taking other complaint calls. This Hotel has gone downhill since I stayed before. Their Customer care statement on their website under "about us" is a joke.

Hotel was as we expected for a 3*** (star). Quiet hotel, guests very friendly. Central location on the Marina. Rooms were not dusted on a daily basis. Leisure Centre could do with a face lift. Food was very nice. Starter with each evening meal was disappointing, very small portion, not very appetising in each case. Staff were helpfull.
Overall enjoyed our stay, we were quiet satisfied.

stayed here for one night.i had requested a room away from air con/fans so got a room at the front of the hotel..non stop traffic..rooms spacious but very warm plus the net curtain on the window was filthy from the dust fumes coming from the busy road.once a week wash them its not that big a task plus scuff marks on the paint work, small things but none the less lack of attention to detail.breakfast was fine ,plesant staff and location is great

Hi stayed at this hotel before about two years and was impressed by it. Just back from a weeekend there and it has gone downhill. Lots of minor things that would not stop me from staying there again - Rooms need updating. My main issue was the heat, The rooms were like saunas, it was beyond uncomfortable. Put my two year old to sleep in just his nappy and his hair was stuck to his heat with sweat. When booking had asked for a quiet room so they had us on second floor but directly over the bar. With windows open between traffic noise and bar noise it was unreal and with windows closed you suffocated. Didn't get a wink of sleep for two nights - would not stay here again. Which is a pity as its location is very good.

Also any time we went to the bar for ice etc the bar man ignored us. I was waiting at the bar saturday and he walked past me to go behind the bar and start emptying the dishwasher - not impressed!

When we complained at checkout about the heat and could they not consider air conditioning the response was a shrug and a statement that if fbd would provide airconditioning they would only need it on once a year. This was a contrast to the statement that they hadn't had heating on in the hotel for 5 months!

Breakfast was lovely and good quality but that is the only thing i could recommend

I stayed here in August with my wifre, her sister and husband and 2 year old kid... First impressions when we walked it was the it looked OK,and the staff were friendly...

We ended up going with at the last minute, and to be honest, I always use TripAdvisor, and would not have booked this hotel...

BAD POINTS:
After reading reviews on Tripadvisor before going, I rang the hotel and e-mailed them to ask for a newly refurbished room... It took an extra 1/2 hour to get it, and although it was tiny, with a tiny bathroom, the door handle came off, BUT it was MUCH fresher than the room the others got...

Theirs was horrible... Old big TV, the wardrobe tilted on the uneven floor... dirty looking carpets, just all in all, not very nice...

I am not one to complain about things, but this is not good enough when you pay hundreds of Euro to stay, and the website makes the rooms look nice!

We then went down to the bar for lunch... It was not nice, the tables were all dirty, there were lumps of food on the floor and tables, the tables never seemed to get cleared, anf the staff were standing around chatting!... I thought this would be the holiday from hell... it is just very "shabby"...

Expect to pay €4.50 for a pint at the hotel bar.

BUT... there are good points... the next two days/evening were much better... the staff were hard working lads, very helpful, clean, and the bar is a pleasant place to be to have lunch or watch sports etc...

It was very child friendly, with babysitting, and kids club etc...

The food from the restaraunt was very nice... steak was excellent... You can have it in the nice restaraunt, or they will take it to the bar area, where there is plenty of seating.

There is food in the bar during the day, that you go up with your tray and choose, but its not great.

The breakfast was OK... pleanty to choose from (fry and fruit etc)... But it can be sooo busy... we had to wait to be seated, and its hit or miss with who you have looking after you... the first day, it was great, we were sseated, brought tea/coffee and toast... but the next 2 times, we had to ask several times for the tea and toast since the girls where walking around like they were lost (so always make sure to ask for it straight away)

Not much else I can say... It was OK... I wouldn't fall over myself to go back, but its great if you have kids... I would recommend for families just for that alone...

OH... I forgot to mention, ask for the second or third floor, because there was a young lad whos room was broken into and robbed on the 1st floor! --- and ask for a newer room.

Waterford was lovely... go to Tramore for the beach if its sunny... plenty of amusments etc...

Also, JACK MEADES pub was great if you have kids... big play area, petting farm, all very open... but once again... you need the weather...

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
