“Rooms not great”
Reviewed 29 January 2011

Went to this hotel for one night . I looked modern on the outside and looked well. However the rooms are tiny and old fashioned and we were a bit disappointed when we got to the room. We also had a terrible view from our window and there was some sort of fan that was outside our window that cut in every now and again during the night which was a bit annoying. The breakfast was lovely and service perfect .

Parking was terrible I think there was a function on the night we were there but there were no parking spaces. We had to park across the road and had a parking ticket when we got to the car the next day :-(

Excellent location in the heart of Wonderful Waterford city! Lovely hotel, staff, rooms and breakfast faultless. Loved that they left paper cups and lids if you fancied bringing a cup of tea / coffee out of the room with you - lovely little touch! Didn't eat in hotel resturant but heard from several that it was very good. Excellent chinese directly accross the road (upstairs from the pub) they do a great early bird special up to 7pm and the food is yummy. If you looking for a nice traditional irish pub with a good ballad session then T and Hs is the place to go but several great pubs to chose from. Great shopping city as well. Overall, Waterford has got something for everyone.

Had a brilliant weekend at the Tower Hotel, location fantastic for shopping bars and restaurents. Parked the car and walked everywhere. Nice spacious corner room on the 3rd floor with all mod cons. Was there with friends for tower hotel christmas party and it was a great party night...excellent food and service and a brilliant brass band that played to a very happy crowd. All twelve of us agreed it was well worth the trip from Dublin, and we shall return. Also recommend french bistro just around the corner called L'Atmosphere, hearty rustic cooking with great service.

This is my second stay in the Tower hotel, our group varied in ages. The staff were friendly, the restaurant menu and standard of food was great. The hotel rooms were really hot (which is great in this cold weather) and spotless clean. Also good location. Would definitely recommend this hotel and in addition to above it was great value for money.

My boyfriend & I decided to book a room in the Tower hotel as it looked and sounded great when we logged on to the official site online. We got a deal which we were happy about, one night stay including breakfast & a house bottle of wine in the room on arrival. When we arrived we checked in & went up to our room. We stayed in room 305. It was clean but the pillows were very uncomfortable they were lumpy. The linen was not crisp as promised & the duvet was very shabby. Our bottle of wine was not in our room on arrival & we had to ring down to reception to have it brought up to the room along with 2 extra pillows. The receptionist didn't sound very friendly. When we tasted the wine it was horrible, it tasted very cheap. We couldn't drink it. The bedside lockers needed repairing & the ceiling needed some plaster work. When we arrived to the restaurant the snobby waiter asked us if we were residents we stated that we were & he asked us our room number, we felt like he didn't believe us. He then showed us to a table, the waitress was pleasant but the menu was awful, the food wasn't fantastic either. Overall I'd rate this hotel 5/10 & definitely would not recommend it to anyone if you like your comfort in the bedroom & a decent meal..

My wife and I stayed here recently and got a great deal on their web site. The hotel is in a good location and has good facilities but the staff, with 1 or 2 exceptions, were not very friendly. We weren't given a 4 star welcome on arrival or thanked on departure, maybe it was because we were not paying the top rate that we got the - cheers n gud luck treatment

When travelling with a larger group of extended family and friends it can be a stressful experience, but not in this case. There were 32 of us staying in the Tower Hotel last weekend and we were looked after so well by the friendly staff, they couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recomend this hotel to get away to relax and unwind., the atmosphere is excellent.. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable!!
