It is a tranquil place, characterised by narrow streets, historic architecture, atmospheric public spaces and unique cultural and heritage attractions. Wander through Waterford Viking Triangle, visit the home of the global brand that is Waterford Crystal, nine national monuments including a 13th century underground wine vault, three world class museums (Viking, Medieval and Georgian) as well as an array of craft studios, cafes and excellent gift shops. Over 1,000 years of history unfold in just 1,000 paces in this compact and authentically charming location.

“Worth visiting!”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Easy to get around. Enough culture to feel like I'd learned something. Fun things to amuse like the two chairs near the cathedral and the statues of Strongbow and Aoiffe. Excellent pub. All you need now is some sunshine! (Actually, the district is worth visiting on a wet day too as the places of interest are not far apart)

“A walk you must take.”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

The triangle takes in all the places of interest in Waterford none being very far apart . We only had one free day to do this walk but to do all the interesting places you need at the very least two whole days .Plenty of chance for retail therapy shopping centres inside the triangle, many places for a meal and coffee for the trek.

“When in Waterford city”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

There's a lot of history awaiting visitors to the center of Waterford city, including the remains of Viking fortifications that now occupy busy street corners. Although other reviewers recommended guided tours, there is enough information displayed on the signs that you can go on your own and get at least a general sense of the historic significance of these sites. Also worth a visit are the nearby Catholic and Protestant cathedrals, as well as the visitors information center along the quay, whose workers cheerfully provided answers to our questions about the local transit system.
