Although it was named after a Viking, the tower itself is of Norman origin, built on an older timber structure. However the artefacts in this museum are impressive. We never saw so much evidence of both viking and norman activity in this area. The tower itself is no less impressive. The spiral stair case and the big rooms are ideal to house a museum. Stunning building
