“Great Weekend Break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2012

My three girlfriends and I have just returned fro a two night break in Waterford Castle. We stayed in the lodges. They were really homely and had all mod cons. It was a nice touch to have the heating on and the gas fire lighting when we arrived. We ate in the bar the first night and the food was reasonable and tasty. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the island on Saturday morning. We got a taxi into the city on Saturday and loved Waterford city. We had lunch in a great deli on the quays called BerFranks and dinner in the Bodega . I would highly recommend both. Looking forward to returning to Waterford.

“The best Guiness of a lifetime”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2012

It's beautiful and a free ferry ride away from town.

I had a Guiness and learned why the entire country loves Guiness. It's light, airy and delicious. Now if they could only do that in the US.

Brillant was the word to describe this. Had afternoon tea in castle with my mother-in-law and sisters-in -law. Took a walk around castle grounds and then had a lovely afternoon tea, before taking ferry back. totally relaxed and enjoyable. Spend as much time as you want there. No rush....

“Golf course from heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2012

We only played the golf course, and snacked in the clubhouse... But what an experience! Fallow deer roam the course, unobtrusive, but unafraid; views at some of the holes over the surrounding river are awesome (it really is an island, only accessible via three minute car ferry ride!); course is challenging, fast greens, but fair, and an easy walk.
Clubhouse and pro shop very friendly, relaxed, no pretensions at all.
We will come back here - this time to stay a few days. Magical.
