The weekend before Valentines Day we stayed at the Fitzwilton Hotel in Waterford city on a two night City deal. It has a small carpark but unfortunately we were unable to get a parking place in it. However we found parking in a public car park across the road which was very reasonable. We left our car there for two nights and only had to pay E5. We found our room to be of good size and very nice. It had iron, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. It was at the back of the hotel as we wanted a quiet room. Check-in was prompt and reception staff very helpful. We went to the bar for some food and staff there were very nice. The food was good. That night we had our first meal as part of the city deal. The selection on the menu was small as this is a special menu. But the food was good and there was plenty on the plate. Had a couple of drinks in the bar too. The serve yourself breakfast the following morning was very good. Plenty of variety in juices, fruit, cereals and fried foods. The second night we ate at Chez k. Had a wonderful meal. There isnt any pool or gym at the hotel but we enjoyed our stay immensely and will be using it again. Waterford is a lovely city and quite small so anything that we wanted to see was well within walking distance.
