This hotel claimes to be Waterfords only 4 star hotel, i'ts not even close to a 4 star hotel. We booked a double and single room, got 3 single beds. The room was clean but badly needs to be re decorated. Also very basic facilities in room. The lobby is small and also a little shabby. The so called car park is a joke. this hotel is only an average 3 star hotel and there are far better 3 star hotels in Waterford.

Room Tip: If you like a little quality dont stay here.

Stayed at this Hotel at the weekend .It is easy to find was reasonably priced.
It has a carpark which is a strange shape and fills up very early.
Food was very good and the bar is nice and modern (if extremely quiet)
All the staff we met were extremely helpful and very polite.
Room was clean and had everything you needed. One little bottle of shower gel and shampoo between two people was not enough really.
We stayed at the back of the hotel which was recommended by other reviewers It was a little noisy as staff started at 6am moving barrels etc
Bed was a bit disapointing. Poor quality and not very comfortable.
The rooms on the hotel website are not the rooms we got, obviously these are limited but why hide what the majority of rooms look like on the web, they are perfectly adequate.
No wi-fi in our room, didnt need it as it wasnt a business trip and i'm sure if i had asked it would be sorted out.

Room Tip: Arrive early to get a parking space.

My husband and I stayed at Fitzwilton for one night as part of a coach tour throughout Ireland in September 2012. Although we didn't have much time to really explore Waterford, our stay at the hotel was a pleasant one. The rooms were clean and about average for a European hotel. There is a nice small bar/cafe on the ground floor, as well as a restaurant, where we had dinner. The dinner was pretty good, restaurant is noisy though. I am not sure if there's a fitness center.
In terms of location, it is very close to the waterfront and a couple blocks to some other restaurants and pubs. I cannot say how far the walk would be to most of the museums and the Waterford Crystal factory, but it was about a 5-10 minute drive from the hotel. It appeared to be a convenient location, though.
Overall, I would probably recommend the Fitzwilton, particularly if you were able to get a good value on the room rate.

I stayed here for one night with my sister & my 2 year old son. The service at check in was quick, efficient & friendly. The travel cot that I had requested was set up in the room before our arrival, something which a lot of other hotels do not do!
The room was large, clean and modern. My only criticism is that there was a large window which opened out fully (no safety latches), we were on the 4th floor and the window was extremely easily accessible to a toddler. I spent the whole stay trying to keep him away from it, which made it difficult to relax!
We had dinner in the restaurant, Chez K. This was ok, not wonderful but not bad either, quite mediocre.
I would stay here again, the location is ideal for exploring the city and there is on site parking which is convenient.

Stayed here recently for one night with my husband, location is fab, very central! Reception area is tiny! Lovely receptionist greeted us, but when we got to our room it was awful! Furniture was all worn and torn, anytime someone smoked up above us there cigarette landed right outside our room and we could smell them all night long! Awful loud buzzing noise coming from the light all night too! Bar was nice but limited food! Would not go back!
