A mothers and daughters spa day with good treatments but indifferent staff, inadequate facilities to cater for extra guests. Sharing a locker between 4 is not acceptable nor the lack of loungers in the pool area. I was told by a member of staff that I could sit on a stool - not really my idea of a relaxing spa day out. We wondered where we would sit if the weather was poor. Afternoon tea rather stingy. Also the lock on the ladies toilet in the changing room is very hard to unlock. Have experienced far better for no extra cost.

Four of us bought a deal spa day here - fortunately it was a deal - this spa doesn't cater for more than a few people. The four of us had to share a locker, there were only 5 beds by the pool - there wasn't room for more. Luckily it was a beautiful day so we could sit outside, if it had been cold or raining we would have been obliged to sit in the bar wearing swimsuits and dressing gowns. The treatments were good. The afternoon tea wasn't very special - not to be recommended. My advise would be to pay more and go somewhere with the appropriate facilities.

2 nights were more than enough. At check-in we made a dinner reservation only to find it was not passed on, difficult moments until we were "accommodated". Food average, picked a wine I know well (2nd dearest), ordered by name and bin, wrong wine delivered. Asked to taste the right one I declined which brought the response "well I suppose it doesn`t matter it is only a screw top".
Toilet needed bluffing into a full flush, shower was loose on wall and thermostat jammed giving dangerous hot water. Reported Sat night still no action Monday departure. Room very tired, needing lots of care.
Full evacuation for fire alarm Sunday morning with no reason given by management, just a curt "thanks for your co-operation".
Monday, interrupted 3 times by housekeeper despite "Do not disturb", they clealy wanted us out before time and on chekout there was no enquiry as to if we had enjoyed our stay.
We moved on to Rheinfield in the New Forest with family £20 dearer, a world away!

Room Tip: Don`t take Room 9 they won`t have fixed the toilet

Took a trip to the spa for a massage. Was less than impressed. First impressions of the hotel was it was outdated in in need of some love. Spa staff seemed bored and uninterested. Massage could at best be described as mediocre, definitely was not worth £60. Emailed management, they didn't even care enough to reply which generally summarises the feelings that I got about the whole establishment.

Arrived a reception at about 9.00 pm to find it unmanned with a 'phone number to ring for attention. Check in somewhat marred by the large notice announcing a £3.95 credit card surcharge! Bar and table waiting staff friendly and helpful but an overall air of absent management. Evening meal was a disaster. Saute potatoes were boiled ones tossed in warm fat. Pie was tough and cold. Full refund given plus a complementary drink but I went to bed starving hungry. Breakfast was supposed to start at 8.00 am and that is when I arrived.... to be told that they weren't ready and I would have to wait for a while!! This is the first time this has ever happened to me - it felt like it was a regular occurrence for the staff. The supervisor walked off when I asked about the delay. I complained and was largely ignored. Once again, at checkout reception was unmanned and I had to ring for attention. I won't be back.

Was treated to a suprise anniversary away at the botleigh grange hotel, had the two nights dinner and wine deal. On arrival i was suprised a building like this could be in the middle of a business park but i liked the cattle as you drive in. We were in the room just above reception on the first floor. The hotel inside reminds me of a jumble sale because the decor is so mismatched. When we arrived our bedroom had clearly not been hoovered.. or if it had really badly and the bathroom floor had not been cleaned well as there was long dark hair on the floor unlike me and my partner. In the hallway the lights were off, so my partner turned them on like a normal person would and there was a bang and most of the lights went off in other rooms we could see. The light switch should have had a sign saying do not use. Food in the restauraunt on the first night was okay... bit boring. but the girl serving us i cannot remember her name but what a credit to the hotel. we visited the spa and found the service and price very good, and the treatments very relaxing :) the food on the second day was amazing, although the service was not as welcoming as the night before, still an enjoyable meal! we also had one other complaint that during our stay we were awoken to knocks about the fact there4 was a leak in reception and we had caused it.. to then be told the next day after three people visiting our room that it was the room next door!

Room Tip: Room above reception has a huge bathroom!

The rooms are big but some of the light bulbs needed changing! The bathrooms needed cleaning and a refurbishment. A bit shabby really not worth the price.

Wouldn't stay here again ever!
