long really narrow roads to get there, be able to reverse long distances.... there is an information center there and lots of parking

This museum is not just about JFK. It celebrates the Kennedy family legacy on both sides of the Atlantic. With excellent displays, audio material and Kennedy memorabilia, it provides an insight into an Irish family and a pivotal decision made in 1848. Good cafe on sight too.
We had no idea how good this would be, and we recommend it greatly. However, a little tricky to find. The story of JFK's visit here is touching, and we got a real sense of how strong his Irish roots were. We had a chance to meet and converse with the Kennedy who is currently living in and farming at this location.
This little museum is a gem. In addition to the memorabilia about the life and times of John Kennedy, it includes a glimpse into the life of his cousin, great-grandchild of the brother of his own great-grandfather. One brother stayed in Ireland (and in poverty), and the other went to America to seek (and find) a better life.
Fascinating family background to the Kennedy clan and great detail on their rise in just four generations. Thoroughly enjoyable. Probably an hour to two hour visit if you have refreshments.
