Volcanic ash meant the cancellation of our flight and recourse to the Rosslare to Fishguard ferry. We decided to stay the night in Rosslare and catch the morning boat and luckily plumped for Clifford House, which we didn't know anything about. Everything about it was tremendous: a nice welcome, tea and biscuits on arrival, beautiful lounges and breakfast room, a nice bedroom, fascinating artworks and 'objets trouves' all over the house, a fantastic location, and ever-helpful hosts (including a lift down to the ferry terminal when we left). A couple of reviews haven't been very complimentary about the landlady - but we found her charming and adaptable. We'll certainly be back.
