“A great location to tour the South East Ireland”
Reviewed 20 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Grangewood is a comfortable, well equipped cottage ideal when you have 3 senior citizens in your party. Within a 30 minute drive of most of the main tourist sites and beaches of Wexford, it is a great base for a holiday in the sunny (and it was genuinely sunny) south east. The owner was always willing to provide advice and deal with our questions. In fact one of our party left their purse behind and the owner forwarded it back to us, with no extra charge! What great service.

“Horrible accusations within 3 hours of leaving house....had to fight to get security deposit”
Reviewed 3 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We spent a very hot and wonderful week in Rosslare July 17-23. It was a much need respite break from being a full time carer for my 91 yr old Mum. My sister's family, hubby, and 2 teenage nephews joined me for the week. It was close to home if an emergency arose with my mum in respite care. The house met all our needs with a lovely fenced in yard for our little dog. The house is 14 years old and as a summer rental there is the usual wear and tear but overall it was comfortable. We cleaned the house before leaving and pointed out a few things to the house manager that needed attention. She commented on how clean we left the home.

Within 3 hours of our return home I received a horrible email from the owner with accusations of having stained the carpets ( marks were there when we arrived, as you would expect from carpets used in a rental home ), of scratching the countertops by not using the chopping boards (they were old and stained but we used them and not the countertop) and worst of all suggested we allowed our dog to urinate on the sheets and mattress!!!! (Two of the sheets had false tan on them) The owner made these accusations without having visited her home and blamed us for having to cancel her next renters (calendar was showing free until mid July) she said she would have to replace all carpets and countertops and mattresses.

We were extremely upset that someone would think we were the type of people who would disrespect someone's property this way. It totally ruined what was a lovely holiday. She was refusing to return the security deposit and hinted that the damage caused would amount to more charges. I challenged the owner on the accusations and suggested she send before and after photos to substantiate her claims of damage. When she visited her house to check the "so called damage" she agreed that the chopping boards needed replacing and nothing more was said about the supposed damage to countertops, carpets or mattresses....no apology was made.

If you are renting this home I suggest you bring your own linens, cover the carpets, avoid cooking anything. Take photos of everything as soon as you arrive ( we were too trusting and nieve) lest you get accused for imaginary damages and for actually using the facilities. Very upset and hurt by my dealings with this owner. I will never rent this home again.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 31 March 2017 for a stay in July 2016

Great place to stay but a bit away from beach but that did not bother us as grandkids had a ball out playing all time as there lots of other kids around it was hard to get them to come in car when we wanted to go out and even harder at bedtime as they had so much fun in the safe complex and we could see them from house we staying in. Great places to go to every day like hookhead lighthouse ,st johns castle.loads of things to do and a great beach in Rosslare .

“Excellent facilities - great location”
Reviewed 21 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

I would recommend grangewood for a holiday to Rosslare.
The house is perfectly located for the Strand in a quiet cul de sac which my children loved. Lots of space to run around and meet the nieghbours.
The house itself is well equipped for 2 young familes. There is a large communal area that was confortaby able to host us all. Wifi connection was good and really helpful when we had issues with our return trip home and need to change travel arrangements.
Management on site were helpful and able to recommend local places of interest.
Maebh was and excellent host . She responded quickly on email and offered loads of suggestions for days out.
We will be back again.

“Home from Home”
Reviewed 25 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We(4 adults and one 3 yr old) stayed in No 3 Pine Grove, Grangewood Holiday Homes for a week in July 2016. This house was clean & well equipped with everything we needed. It really was 'home from home'. 2 of the bedrooms( 1 double upstairs and 1 twin downstairs) had ensuites and the single room(upstairs) had access to the main bathroom upstairs. The house also had wi fi installed recently. It had a light airy conservatory with sliding doors, looking on to an enclosed, well maintained large back garden. We could not get over how quiet this cul de sac was even though all the houses were occupied. There were other families there and all the children played with each other at the play park in the middle. The area was safe and the people we met friendly. The week we were there, even though the weather was excellent, there were no noisy neighbours partying in their gardens and there wasn't a sound after 11 p.m. It was an ideal base for visiting the beach, golf course and play park at the community centre, which is about 15-20 mins walk, but part of the road had no footpath so we took the car down to Rosslare Strand. As the weather was so good we did not venture too far from the town except into Wexford town which had some lovely shops and restaurants. There were nice restaurants in Rosslare Strand also that served locally caught fish('Wild and Native', 'Tides' and 'Kellys'. Kelly's Hotel and Rosslare Golf Club also had extensive menus to cater for all tastes. This house was ideal for us and we will certainly be back. I would recommend this house for families as it is very suitable for children as it is off the road and safe. The manager, Aine, was also accessible by phone after meeting us when we arrived and she sorted out the minor issues we had quickly.

Thank you for your kind and informative review. I am delighted that you found the facilities in the house, playground and area excellent. That the manager was available to you at all times. The addition of Wi-Fi to the house this summer certainly seems to be liked by the guests. As does the enclosed garden. I look forward to welcoming you back to my house whenever it suits you.

“Another very enjoyable holiday”
Reviewed 9 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We are repeat customers who always try to stay in this cottage each year if possible. We have stayed in other cottages in previous years and none are up to the standard of this cottage, in terms of standards of equipment, decor and cleanliness, all we have to do is unpack. Its overall layout is ideal with a large fully fitted kitchen with all the necessary appliances including a water filter, a beautiful conservatory and downstairs loo. This year the addition of high speed WiFi (faster than the eFibre we have in Dublin) worked very well and with the smart TV we were able to access the internet on the TV. Also as SkyGo users we were able to watch Sky Movies and Sports on the iPads without any distortion. The area is ideal when the weather is good (on average more likely than elsewhere in Ireland) while the cottage is kitted out to keep you occupied on the occasional wet day with a great selection of DVD's, books and bot Saorview and Freeview.

“A very enjoyable, relaxing holiday”

The facilities were great, location ideal just 100 mins from Dublin, close to great places to visit, 20 mins from Wexford town, Johnstown Castle, Kilmore Quay etc. 40 mins will get you to New Ross, JFK arboretum and viewing point, the Hook, Duncannon to name a few. Good places to eat both in Rosslare Strand and Wexford, e.g. Whitford, Farmers Kitchen, Silver Fox, etc. Good walks in Rosslare Strand itself and in JFK, Johnstown, the Hook etc. Wexford town for shopping if the weather isn't playing its part. We have holidayed in this cottage numerous times and enjoy it as we can relax the minute we arrive. No 3 is one of the larger houses in the complex and is the only one with a downstairs loo. It has a great conservatory which is great in summer if the weather is poor and also in the winter as it has a heater.
