“Make sure you stay in the hotel”
Reviewed 16 September 2012

Myself and my partner stayed here last week mainly just for the scenery and that we were passing through. We were given a room in the lodge across the road to which i must admit can only be described as awful and hostel like..so we contacted the hotel and asked to be moved, the hotel rooms in the hotel are completely different and a lot cleaner. If your having food also stick to the bar food, its very good and reasonable, the restaurant food is below standard. We Both had the sea food chowder for a starter which arrived in a canteen bowl and had a film on top obvioulsy from the microwave...it was awful..

Room Tip: Avoid the lodges

Dear guest,
Thank you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your meal in the Four Vales Bar. I'm disappointed to hear that you found the lodge 'hostel like'. The Lodge is the newer part of the hotel, built in 2004. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily and are equipped with television, telephone, hairdryer, tea / coffee making facilities, and complimentary WiFi access. Twenty of these rooms have their very own balconies. We take complaints regarding our food very seriously, and investigate issues immediately should they arise.
We hope to see you back at Woodenbridge Hotel and Lodge for a return visit.
Kind regards,
Sinéad

Spent 2 nights in Woodenbridge Hotel last weekend & greatly enjoyed it. Rooms were very clean and comfortable overlooking the Golf course.
We ate both nights in restaurant and food was excellent & very reasonable.

Attractive, pleasant ambience and friendly staff - a relaxing place. Enjoy!

Ireland is lovely, County Wicklow is beautiful. Woodenbridge hotel is in county Wicklow, in a lovely spot.

Golf course across the road. Whatever turns you on!

Friendly locals, lots of chat and humour! Great music, some nights! Live and lively or quiet and peaceful, you want it, you've got it!

Parking: great. Good restaurants a short drive away, again in and through beautiful scenery.

Come and see for yourself! We go again and again!

Ask where and how to go, they know!

Their breakfasts are good.

Signed: a couple of blow-ins, David and George

We stayed here for one night, a quick night getaway from the stresses of city life to celebrate our anniversary.Anyway the hotel is approx one hour drive from Dublin airport. We were allocated a room in the lodge part of the hotel which is accross the road from main hotel.Room was clean and basic with a portable tv and an old one at that. The walls were pretty thin and the people next door may as well been in our room.
The main hotel is nice but a little dated with old irish history photos and pictures scattered around the walls. The bar area is small but good service is provided. The bar area could have better seating in my opinion more pub like.Alot of golfers were here the night we were and created a bit of crack with the good live music that was provided.
Now the best part...The food was absolutely gorgeous and the best iv had in any hotel. We had a dinner in the bar and obviously breakfast the following morning...spot on.

The main hotel is small, basic but homely with beautiful food so if staying again i would stay in main part and not the lodge due to noise level from other rooms .The surrounding area is nice and peaceful.

Room Tip: Choose room in Main Hotel.

We ate here on two nights. the food is good and reasonably priced (about the cheapest we had while away) The service on the second night was really slow, (at least two other couples who had ordered after us were served before us and we had to speak to a waiter to see where our food was) and when our meal eventually arrived the plates were so hot we could not touch them and the food was equally hot and we had to wait for it to cool a bit. Our suspicion was that they had actually forgotten the order and had had to reheat it quickly to get it to us. having said that, the waiters were friendly and helpful, but on both nights we noticed a change in waiters between thr order and food being brought out and wondered if this contributed to the delay in our meals. Despite this we would still recommend this as a place to eat,

Dear Guest,
I am sorry to hear about the service being slow the second night you dined in our restaurant. This is not the norm, and I apologise for the delay with your meal.
I'm glad you found the menu such good value and we hope to see you back at Woodenbridge Hotel & Lodge soon so that we can have a chance to redeem ourselves.

I just can't say enough nice things about Woodenbridge. The location is gorgeous, the staff and locals are so friendly and the food is mouth watering.

My sister had her wedding her, we had the best day possible.

The hotel has a cosy homely feel to it, and I love all the memorabilia on the walls.

I'll be back very soon for Sunday lunch. Thank you all in Woodenbridge.

Room Tip: If possible get a room with a balcony in the old part of the hotel looking out over the golf course...
