This place only opened last week and had only been open a couple of days when we visited. They have a bar area that was being well used. Plenty of staff were on duty ready for the Saturday night rush. Most tables were pre-booked but we managed to bag one as we arrived late afternoon/early evening. To be fair the running of the place seemed to be going fairly well-the manager appeared to be keeping things going well especially as football fans started to fill the bar.
The pizzas are all around £10 each for a thin crust supposedly wood fired offering. The pizza oven sits on the edge of the room. The menu offered a couple of old favourites (pepperoni and a take on hawaiian) but the rest seemed to be combinations that someone in head office (yes -yet another chain restaurant comes to Peterborough. This is not an independent) thinks we should like rather than than what we actually want to try out. Who wants aubergine on a pizza???!!!
The pizzas arrived very quickly and were tasty and hot but nothing amazing. To be fair they are not expensive but they did not taste wood fired and the melted cheese seemed a bit fatty. I am comparing to real Italian offerings though rather than other British chain restaurants so perhaps this critique is harsh.
The ladies loos were adequate. Please put hooks on the back of doors though and make sure they are checked regularly.
Alot of money has been spent on the refurbishment although it is a shame that all the fittings from the previous restaurant had been ripped out. However the decoration didn't set the world on fire. Mismatched nick nacks sit alongside queen themed items. It appeared to be trying a little too hard to be trendy but came across as decoration by numbers.
It is good to see more places opening in Peterborough but there are already a number of pizza joints within a few moments walk of this new joint and like so many other restaurants in this town it is rather adequate rather than outstanding (although I would say service was good- well done for getting this right so quickly). Perfectly good for a quick bite to eat with friends but nothing special.

Wood fired pizza oven and the guys are pushing out some decent pizzas. Not really a fan of Charles Wells beer but the guest beers were decent and well presented. A big plus for us was the inclusion of Luscombes soft drinks.

Will definitely visit again

First time here, love the old school pizza oven in the middle of a pub. Good selection of tap drinks AND Patron Tequila! Happy, friendly and helpful staff and the Lardo pizza was glorious. Try it out.
