Four of us stayed for 2 nights in the Garden Rooms - Forge and Bellows. Rooms a bit lacking in that no safe or mini bar and furniture a little basic and tired, but there was a hairdryer, ironing board and iron. In Forge Garden Room we had one double - 4' 6" bed and one single bed. Room and bathroom was very clean and beds very comfortable. Nice and quiet location - no noise at night - despite a wedding being held in the main hotel. The food in both the main restaurant and the Bistro was excellent, very high standard. All in all a lovely characterful Inn, good accommodation and excellent food. Would recommend and certainly revisit.

Room Tip: Gardens Rooms were quiet.

We stopped here on our way through Peterborough and what a find it was!! The food was fantastic, the restaurant was warm and cosy with a big open fire, overall it was a great atmosphere. The bistro wasn't open so we were seated in the restaurant although initially they were unhappy that we had a child with us, which we found a bit strange?!

The Stilton cheese board was divine!!

Stayed here when attending a 21st birthday party.
The function itself was excellent with the hotel staff coping well with 60/80 guests. Food was good. Service was good.
Our room was well serviced, clean, etc and great for a one night stay.
Breakfast was very good with a good selection of food. The staff were great in dealing with a crowd who were slightly below par!

Very enjoyable stop over and excellent evening meal.
Rooms looking a little updated and need redecorating and refurbishing.
In the room we had the bathroom was tiny.
Otherwise a lovely old coaching inn with some great beers.

This is a beautiful old coaching Inn, sympathetically restored. We chose to eat in the Bistro rather than the restaurant as the choice and prices suited us. I had probably the best fish and chips ever! Love crispy batter and chips- recommend! Pity there was only one other table occupied so it lacked atmosphere- but better service for us! Recommend!
