Selected the Bell Inn, Stilton based on other good reviews on Trip Advisor and I was not disappointed. The room was excellent as was the food and service in the galleried restaurant. Wifi was available and gave a good internet connection. For business or pleasure this is a great place to stay just off the A1.

Room Tip: Room 22 was a four-poster room on the front of the hotel. Very well laid out room and extremely com...

Staying at a well known hotel chain over the recent FA cup semi final weekend in Peterborough and as we were meeting some friends decided that we needed somewhere different to eat.

Searching around the local area I discovered the bell quite at random and selected it based on distance rather than any other factor

I can't describe how I feel about it apart from the overwhelming need to return.

A well stocked bar with good quality and well kept hand pulled ales and a very good range of spirits.

Despite the premises catering for a wedding party we were quickly booked in and ushered to our table in the galleried restaurant to choose from the menu.

The restaurant offers either two or three courses at a set price and it is of exceptional quality. Some courses are at a small supplement but again worth the extra.

You really must try the Stilton chess sampler board for your desert. You really won't regret it.

Highly recommended and probably the second best restaurant I have eaten in - the first being in Antigua - a little too far to travel for a weekend!

Fully intending to return and stay the night.

Visit this place soon. It really is amazing.

The Bell Inn has an excellent menu; wonderful atmospheric pub rooms; good food. I was there just for lunch while biking past. Very good selection of food and well served. The outside courtyard seating area is very attractive, and except that it was April and the sun could disappear at any minute, I chose to go for the charming and typical inside rooms, with a welcoming fire.

Four of us stayed for 2 nights in the Garden Rooms - Forge and Bellows. Rooms a bit lacking in that no safe or mini bar and furniture a little basic and tired, but there was a hairdryer, ironing board and iron. In Forge Garden Room we had one double - 4' 6" bed and one single bed. Room and bathroom was very clean and beds very comfortable. Nice and quiet location - no noise at night - despite a wedding being held in the main hotel. The food in both the main restaurant and the Bistro was excellent, very high standard. All in all a lovely characterful Inn, good accommodation and excellent food. Would recommend and certainly revisit.

Room Tip: Gardens Rooms were quiet.

We stopped here on our way through Peterborough and what a find it was!! The food was fantastic, the restaurant was warm and cosy with a big open fire, overall it was a great atmosphere. The bistro wasn't open so we were seated in the restaurant although initially they were unhappy that we had a child with us, which we found a bit strange?!

The Stilton cheese board was divine!!

Stayed here when attending a 21st birthday party.
The function itself was excellent with the hotel staff coping well with 60/80 guests. Food was good. Service was good.
Our room was well serviced, clean, etc and great for a one night stay.
Breakfast was very good with a good selection of food. The staff were great in dealing with a crowd who were slightly below par!

Very enjoyable stop over and excellent evening meal.
Rooms looking a little updated and need redecorating and refurbishing.
In the room we had the bathroom was tiny.
Otherwise a lovely old coaching inn with some great beers.
