Not a lot to say. A holiday inn express, they are all roughly the same.
The rooms and corridors are showing signs of wear and a bit dated but it was all clean. It sometimes appears a little under staffed here. More

Got a really cheap deal on an overnight stay on route somewhere else.
Thankfully we didn't pay much as we didn't get much :-(
Breakfast ok but not as good as most other HI Express we've been in.
Strong smell of paint and fumes from the recent (ongoing?) refurb which was quite unpleasant.
Disappointed to be told, quite abruptly, that despite what the website said, and the in room literature, there is no dining available, just snacks.
Bed comfy, room clean, walls seem quite 'thin' as we were disturbed most of the night by our neighbours talking and walking about.
Free parking and easy to find from A1.

Our breakfast is a continental with the addition of 3 hot items (beans, Sausages and scrambled eggs - we follow all the guidelines set out by the company to ensure we are to the correct standard. Disabled double room was no bigger than a normal double room. Manoeuvring a wheel-chair around the foot of the bed was difficult and meant squeezing past the TV stand. Could not get wheel-chair along side of the bed, so had to use the other side. Shower/WC room too small to use washbasin from wheel-chair without it sticking out into the bedroom and unable to close bathroom door. Similarly lack of space made it impossible to use WC without wheel-chair sticking out into the bedroom and unable to close bathroom door. Hot water was barely hot enough in the morning. Towel rail too far from washbasin to be useable. One of the 13a power sockets was not live. Housekeeping staff do not seem to realize that the passing spaces on the corridors are the best place to park their trolleys. They kept leaving them in the narrow parts and I could not get my

Stayed at this Holiday Inn Express between days out. The room was clean and tidy but the bathroom door didn't shut properly, good job we're a close family! We wanted dinner but the menu at the hotel was limited so went to the Harvester next door (don't bother it's overrated and the food is at best average) When returning we wanted a drink from the bar but the staff member was busy chatting, When he did serve us he was asking about our meal, when we said we weren't impressed he said 'oh you should have gone to another place'..why didn't he say before when we spoke as we left for dinner?? Breakfast was ok but not as good as other Holiday Inns and Expresses. No variety of tea unless you ask! I've stayed in many different Holiday Inn Expresses and this was NOT on my favourite list...I'll avoid next time.

Was happy with my stay here, conveniently located for meetings the following day, clean tidy and rooms of the usual H Inn Express standard. Ordered take away from a local restaurant so cannot comment on the food. Would stay again if in the area.

I stayed here for one night & what a comfortable night it was! The bed & linen was great.The shower was excellent,not one of those awful fixed heads as in Travelodge! I don't want my hair soaked everyday !
The breakfast was super ,sausages particularly nice 😊,lots of fresh fruit,yoghurts muffins etc
The staff were nice & friendly too.
I would definitely choose Holiday Xpress over Travelodge anyday.
