“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 18 May 2014 via mobile

My 12 year old daughter and I visited the flag fen today. Even though it's on my doorstep I've never actually been anywhere near it.
It is definitely worth a visit and also having the guided tour and paying that little bit extra to see the boats.
Our trip lasted about 2 1/2 hours and was well worth the money.
It's the usual trouble with funding as the place seems to be missing that extra place for kids/families.
The visitor/cafe was very clean and pleasant. The veranda is a cracking place to sit and eat/drink next to the pond.

“an enjoyable morning out”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

I was a little apprehensive of this trip as it was the choice of my 8 yr old granddaughter,Although I have an interest in archaeology , my thoughts were it will be boring for her,but no she enjoyed her visit, there were no demonstrations on the day we went but she found plenty to interest her, the only disappointment for her was that you cannot see much in the boat preservation shed, but she listened to the presentation by the duty conservator and asked a couple of questions,
all in all the amount of interest she showed amazed me, and she would like a return visit in the summer

“Romans at Flag Fen”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

We went to Flag Fen at Easter when there were Roman dispays. Highly recommended for a good day out. Very interesting demonstrations, craft area where children could make shields etc, archery and interesting re-enacters talking about life in Roman times. Could have stayed longer if it had been warmer! Take a picnic if it's a nice day.

“A highlight of our week”
Reviewed 13 April 2014 via mobile

On a six day trip we booked ahead for a private tour for ten people. Stunning. OK so I'm interested in pre history but the practical work undertaken is amazing, not just what has been uncovered but some of the reconstructions are fascinating. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours. Thanks for a great tour Christine.
