Interesting place to visit. Saw the boats that they found at marsh farm and have put them sort of on display! Many of them wrapped in bubble wrap.

I’m so pleased to have heard about this place, such an interesting and forgotten part of Britain’s culture. Informative and very child friendly. Big plus - the ancient waterlogged timbers that still remain from the Causeway that the Celts built which was almost entirely destroyed by the Romans. Only disappointment - the ancient longboats that are kept behind glass screens, mostly covered and being permanently showered.

An interesting place to visit if you want to see real history and how it is being conserved. We were there for about 2 hours.

Have lived in Lincolnshire for over 40 years and never knew about Flag Fen. Well worth a visit to learn about our Bronze Age ancestors and see some amazing artefacts from 3,300 years ago. Reasonable entry fee, free tour, good cafe and toilets.
Thoroughly recommended.

Tried my hand at the Roman cooking experience at the weekend. The group was kept small which was good and it was an informal morning. The 2 hosts certainly knew their stuff and answered many questions. All ingredients and recipes were supplied to create a Roman feast which we all ate round the table at the end. We were also given copies of all the recipes to take home. I have to say the dishes were all flavoursome although not all to my taste. We cooked marinated hare and partian chicken for the mains with sides of lentil and wine stew, lettuce puree among other dishes. We even had peaches in cumin sauce and poppy seed biscuits. All in all a very interesting morning.
