Owner description: There is something for everybody at Ferry Meadows. Imagine somewhere beautiful, safe and unspoilt where you can walk, cycle, play, horse-ride, ride a train, go fishing, exercise the dog, jog, push the buggy and explore endless meadows, lakes and woodland all less than three miles from Peterborough's busy city centre. We also offer three play areas catering for different ages and an events programme throughout the year with lots of activities for children. If all of this isn't enough to keep you entertained the Visitor Centre stocks a wide range of toys and games along with gifts, souvenirs and sweet treats. After all this activity you can relax at one of our cafes, find a nice spot for a picnic or fire up on one of our barbecue stands. New for 2014: On 11 April Lakeside at Ferry Meadows will open its doors to Park visitors. Lakeside provides a hub for activity and relaxation within Ferry Meadows as the home for Nene Outdoors, a new watersports and outdoor activity venture and Lakeside Kitchen & Bar, a contemporary dining and function venue. A new and exciting play area is set to open in early April. Aimed at younger children the new Otter playground will provide an exciting play space to explore and enjoy.

“An excellent Country Park with numerous activities available”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Visited this Park after reading the reviews on TA.
The Park covers a large area with so much space that even on a busy sunny Sunday you could find peace and tranquility if you wanted to. It's ideal for families, couples, walkers, cyclists - in fact just about everyone!
There was plenty of parking - in 2 areas near to the 2 cafes. Toilets are also available.
Several good play areas for the kids, a ride on a train and boat trips as well. The new water sports area was very popular, it was lovely sitting out on the extensive veranda eating an ice cream and watching the world go by!
The Park is ideal for picnics and barbeques
One note of caution: beware of cyclists on the paths - we saw 2 'near misses' with small children. Several other people also expressed their concerns.
Other than that I could not fault this excellent facility - highly recommended.

That's the great thing about Ferry Meadows even on a busy day it is easy to find quiet spots.

Thanks for your points regarding the couple of cyclists who concerned you. Our Park code states that the paths are shared and that cyclists should give way to pedestrians and adjust their speed. We also ask that cyclists use their bell to signal their approach. Rangers do enforce the code and we are working to reduce the number of incidents.

Many thanks for your feedback and hope to see you in the park again soon.

“Decent honest food”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

The food here is delicious, service was a bit slow and the tables weren't cleared as quickly as they maybe should be but it's new and I'm sure the teething problems will be ironed out.

An absolutely wonderful place to spend a day. The new water sports centre is brilliant. Great walks, the nene valley railway, good fishing, the wildlife sightings can be interesting otter if you are lucky! Close to the A1 and the busy city of Peterborough! It is ideally situated.
