Description: What looks like your average truckers cafe on the A47 is actually a hidden gem with home cooked food made by the Italian lady who owns the cafe with her son. Absolutely wonderful, tasty, simple food and at a great price too.

“Tasty....”
Reviewed 25 March 2014 via mobile

We stopped by for lunch....as the place we were going to...was closed....and what a good choice. We ate from the seniors menu....mushroom soup and broccoli & stilton....both were first class...followed by homemade steak & mushroom pie with vegetables....delicious!! This home cooked food takes some beating...the staff were very friendly...and the service was good....I take the point about the toilets (as written by a previous contributor) and also the place itself. It would be easy to assume from its' position that it was a greasy-spoon place....but how wrong!!! This is a super little place with lovely food. Glad we dropped in.

“Home Cooking”
Reviewed 13 February 2014

We dropped by chance for a coffee. However, when you get that smell of home cooking we decided to have a hot meal and i can say that if you are travelling along the A47 east then call in at this restaurant at Guyhirn (on Thorney Road) The meal was hot very well presented and above average portions (no complaints on my part) Prices are reasonable for the service you receive and further hot drinks are at a lower price.

The Chill Out serves Breakfasts, Daily Specials and Sunday Roasts, we were served by Daniel Chillingworth the Company Director/ Manager

“Great food and friendly staff”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

Only visited because the place we had planned to visit was closed, looks like a transport cafe from the outside and have passed by it many times. I will definitely be going there again! Really nice food, reasonable prices and the staff are really friendly. I had the special, which was Lamb HotPot, and crumble for pudding. I also had an espresso. Really tasty, fresh cooked fare.

“A new favourite!”
Reviewed 21 January 2014 via mobile

This restaurant is so inconspicuous you'd be forgiven for thinking it's another greasy spoon caf on the roadside.. Think again! After reading the reviews we decided to stop on the way home from a coastal break. Realising we were cutting it fine, I rang ahead and they cheerfully agreed to keep cooking until we arrived.. My partner chose broccoli and stilton soup and I had prawn cocktail. You can't really go wrong with prawn cocktail but the soup was amazing! I had serious food envy.. For mains we chose roast beef Sunday lunch (a medium, thank goodness, as a large would've killed the both of us). It arrived with home made yorkshires, perfectly cooked vegetables and the tenderest, melt in the mouth beef I've had in ages. Considering we were served just at closing time, the food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be coming back and will save our appetites for the Chill Out next time we visit the seaside!

“Good food, friendly service”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

We have been away for a few days and broke our journey here for breakfast on the way "up" and lunch again on the way home. We planned our journey around this cafe as its a firm favourite with us. Its no longer a greasy spoon, but a good quality family run cafe. The menu is long and varied with something for everyone. The cooked breakfast was good, and its possible to make up your own breakfast menu. I strongly recommend the poached eggs. The coffee was really good and served in nice large mugs. Prices are extremely reasonable and the service is prompt and friendly. Parking is easy and if you have a car full of luggage you can see it from the restaurant so no need to sit in the car with a takeaway.
