I'd not been to the museum for over 20 years, but a friend and I decided to do a 'Tourist day' around Peterborough. We added the museum to the list of places to visit as it was free entry. Our plan was to have a quick look around and then move on to the next location (Cathedral then afternoon tea at the Bull Hotel)
After wandering around, taking in all the exhibitions, even trying on some of the costumes (not just for the kids) we left the museum TWO HOURS later. Ok so I hadn't been in years so I don't know how often they change the exhibits, but we loved it. Found it fascinating and got involved with all the activities.
If you're visiting Peterborough, or even live there and haven't been for years, stop by and have a look. If you've got kids, even better. It's free admission (so not sure why the last review complained about cost) you don't need to buy, but there is a coffee shop and souvenir shop too.
