“Lucky find - Tasty pub grub with a warm and friendly welcome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014

Having spent best part of two weeks on a cycling holiday in the Peterborough area we were lucky enough to find ourselves hungry and thirsty after a bike ride that finished in Castor. We arrived in time for a late lunch on a hot and sunny afternoon and were greeted warmly by the landlady and bar staff. My husband was delighted to discover that the pub stocked a selection of real ales actually brewed in Castor by the local castor Ales Brewery and was helped in making his choice from the landlady who provided samples of the two ales - not too easy a decision as he declared them both lovely and ended up having a pint of each!
After quenching our thirst we turned our attention to the business of eating - the menu was quite extensive with a number of home cooked dishes - portions were just the right size for lunch and our food came accompanied by chips and salad, freshly cooked and well presented. We both enjoyed our meals and drinks and had a nice chat with the landlady who was very friendly before completing our cycle ride. An easy cycle ride from The ferry meadows park through lovely countryside.

This traditional country pub boasts a fab selection of real ale and ciders. Combined with the beautifully tasty and well presented food, and the welcoming staff makes for a great place to drop in whether it's for refreshments after walking the dog.a lunch or a dinner it never fails to impress.

“Great pub food, nice setting and lovely welcome.”

We decided on lunch at this little gem of a pub based on the previous reviews. We were not disappointed! I was initially concerned at the size of the menu and that the food might be microwaved packet rubbish, how wrong I was. Starters and mains were well cooked and very tasty. Our dogs were made very welcome even being served doggy treats alongside our main (thanks so much for that little touch). Great choice of guest ales in this Free House too. Add to that free sweets in the Loo and the package is complete. I wish this was my local as there is regular live music advertised. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.

“Good value for money”

Good food and good value for money. Maybe one of the best foods I had in a pub with a note of high cuisine. Not pricey

“The food was Excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014 via mobile

I popped into the Feathers the other night, after not having been in for about twelve months. It was steak night and I was not only impressed with the food but also the value. It was also the start of their beer fest and they had a good range of ales on. The band "Arc Nation" were really good entertainment for a Thursday night! Brilliant!
