“An experience”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

We visited Betty's after a short trip to Harrogate on business. It was very late in the day (5pm) and whilst the staff were lovely and the service very good, the selection on offer was quite poor with the afternoon tea itself being quite small in comparison to some others.
Nevertheless, Betty's is still a very traditional and lovely experience for afternoon tea lovers.

“Excellent breakfast”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

We visited Betty's for a spot of breakfast, and ended up with more choice than we had bargained for. I also wish I'd known the day before that they do a wide variety of takeaway sandwiches in the shop, as I ended up with a generic sandwich from Tesco. There was no queue when we arrived, and we were given the choice between sitting in the main area on the ground level, or downstairs. We elected for downstairs and were pleasantly surprised how quiet it is down there. It was cool and we sat in a booth. We both opted for the special breakfast of smoked haddock and poached eggs. The haddock was cooked perfectly, and of excellent quality. The eggs oozed as they should. Toast was delightfully cut into soldiers, buttered and arranged on a cake stand. A pot of tea in a silver teapot completed a wonderful breakfast.

Champagne Afternoon Tea in the Imperial Room was absolutely amazing. Staff were polite with sense of humour, room was absolutely beautiful, pianist was wonderful and the food was delightful. It was a birthday treat from sister and it made an excellent gift. xx

“Fat rascal!!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

It's more than just a fat rascal if you are looking for a special afternoon tea and the best location too if you are lucky enough to get a window view. It is always busy but a bit of patience does pay off.

The varied menu is good for brunch on a Sunday or lunch with ladies or the old man - can recommend the Welsh rarebit we are never disappointed and sometimes fit in a yummy cream cake too.

If you are looking for that little bit different gift for people of a certain age and don't want to add to their "stuff" then gift tokens will fit the bill, I have used them for wedding anniversary, and special birthdays.
